Guest guest
I have been reading with interest the responses. It is indeed a sad day when you are faced with abuse of anykind. Most of us as I can see have been abused at one time or another. My now husband took years of abuse by his 2nd wife who beat him constantly. He never hit back for he is big and would have probably killed her if he did. But he spent 10 years in fear of his life, and with 6 children to raise on his own for she would not care for anyone but herself. Why do I mention all this. It is because we as women must realize that this too happens to men. I was starting to get the feeling we all thought this was a problem just the females faces. But sad to say I am beginning to see more and more men abused by their wives. If you have been abused, as all have said " you can do it " , be you male or female. Most of use are survivors and fighters for life, and especially if there are children involved. I moved 4 provinces (in Canada of course)away from life long friends and family, to be as far away as possible from my abuser. Yes life does get better as we make informed and better choices in our lives and regain some esteem. But I do ad a word of caution to those looking for releif, make sure you do not repeat your history because if you do you wind up with another abuser. All the best in you new life, and I repeat it because you need to hear it again, " YOU CAN DO IT " . Guest guest
On the lighter side of things! Wisdom from our grandpas... * Whether a man winds up with a nest egg, or a goose egg; depends a lot on the kind of chick he marries. * Trouble in marriage often starts when a man gets so busy earnin' his salt, that he forgets his sugar. * Too many couples marry for better, or for worse; but not for good. * When a man marries a woman, they become one; but the trouble starts when they try to decide which one. * If a man has enough horse sense to treat his wife like a thoroughbred, she will never turn into an old nag! * On anniversaries, the wise husband always forgets the past--but never the present. * A foolish husband says to his wife, " Honey, you stick to the washin', ironin', cookin', and scrubbin.' No wife of mine is ever gonna work. " * The bonds of matrimony are a good investment; but only when the interest is kept up. * Many girls like to marry a military man--he can cook, sew, and make beds, and is in good health--and he's already used to taking orders. * Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age, and start bragging about it. * The older you get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for. * How old would you be, if you didn't know how old you are? * One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young. * Yes, being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable. * Old age is when you former classmates are so gray and wrinkled and bald, they don't recognize you. * If you don't learn to laugh at trouble, you won't have anything to laugh at when you are old. * Some people try to turn back their odometers. Many of us older fellas don't care. We like the way we look. We've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
