DAOM vs. DTCM

This goes for all alt med folks. ND's and DC's also have that problem, even

though they have specific designations for many years. The MD and DO folks have

branded the title doctor with the white coat and stethoscope for the past 40-50

years. The advantage we have is that many MD and DO folks say they do

acupuncture, and not naturopathy or chiropractic, which allows us to have

greater " respect " among that group, even though we have been dumb enough not to

have a doctoral entry level from the get-go and to raise the level of education

as we went like everyone else.

have a doctorate in acupuncture and oriental medicine and a PhD, not an MD. This

immediately put him at ease. There is always a question when people in our field

use the title doctor, because our branding and titles are, well, let's just say

ambiguous.

Alon,

Ah, now I get it.

The state documents are where the law applies. It will not affect your use of

the term.

BTW - it was good to see you and study with Zeng Rongxue together.

Warmly,
