Guest guest
Hi, I have 2 patients who are twins that are both being treated for Lyme disease by 2 different naturopaths. They are on a continually changing antibiotic regime. They both have developed black on their teeth. It can be scraped off, so I don't think its the teeth themselves that are rotting--although I could be wrong. Has anyone heard of this and do you have any ideas about treating it while they continue their treatment from their ND's? One of the ND's told one of them that some antibiotics can cause this side effect but that the antibiotics that they were taking are not known to. Its kind of tough working on them because so many of their symptoms seem related to the antibiotics and they are on so many supplements that its hard to get my head around what is from what and how to approach treating them with TCM. Any thoughts on that would be greatly appreciated. I have spent most of my career helping people avoid antibiotics so its hard to get my head around believing that being on them for years is actually going to restore health. Guest guest
-- Hi Laura, Usually Erytromiecin (sp?) blackens the teeth and it is not an antibiotics for treatment of Lyme disease. Blackening of the teeth in this case is under the enamel, you cannot scrape it off. In case of your patients I think it is a result of high acidity, systemic and local. Change in diet may help.
