Hi, all!

I’ve made a great contact with a hospital in Springfield, Missouri (I grew up

in area and am feeling drawn to move back to be around for my Mom now that

she’s getting older). Their Clinical Services VP wants to offer acupuncture in

their pain management center, we just have to figure out how to get the pain

doctors behind it and do it in a “budget neutral†way.

So I’m looking for contacts with anybody who has experience getting

acupuncture going within a medical setting. Because I’m also trained as a

hypnotherapist and Reiki teacher, and tend to be an excessively integrative

thinker anyway, I’d particularly love to talk with anybody who has set up a

more comprehensive hospital or medical clinic program offering a wider array of

mind-body services, in case they turn out to be open to that.

Also I’m in the process of putting together a package of information for the

doctors, and welcome suggestions for any particular documents to include. I’m

particularly looking for the most succinct, clear copy possible †" don’t want

to make them wade through a bunch of verbiage (or myself, for that matter!)

Some of my specific questions include:

How is your program funded?

How many patients do you see per day/week?

What techniques and point prescriptions/approaches do you find most effective?

If you offer other mind-body services, which of those do you find most

effective?

What CEU classes would you recommend for an acupuncturist going into that

setting?

Do you know of other acupuncturists working in a medical setting that I could

contact?

How has medical staff responded?

What has worked to get doctors on board?

I appreciate all feedback and connections, and am so grateful to have this group

as a resource! Please feel free to forward this to anybody who might be able to

help!

Thanks so much!
