Guest guest
Alon, Could you talk about your treatments for RLS and its efficacy? Thanks for any wisdom you can share. David Vitello
Guest guest
first i have to say that i have had mixed results with rls. Some pt did very well while other say they have not benefited. I tend to treat using a mixture of OM and nutritional unless pt does well on one or the other. Since i have stopped doing much nutritional testing i tend to give amino acids based on presentations. Sometimes i use products such as neurolink from DFH as a base. Looking for food allergies is important and i have seen quite good results when present. Iron def is said to be common in these patients but i have not supplemented often. Mag and vit e have also been reported to help but i cant comment since i never used them on their own. As far as OM i always treat by the pulses and pattern etc..its common to see patients with hollow pulses and a good base formula is xiao jiang zhong tang...if liver pulse is deep and weak or deep and tight i will add jue yin herbs such as danggui or wuzhuyu approach. I have also seen patients were the left cun is superficial weak, guan wiry and right cun slippery and tight for which i start with chihu guizhi ganjiang tang and usually later end up with a xiao jiang zhong approach. I have also seen a pt with a wumeiwan pattern and several with shenqi wan patterns. I have tried adding mugua in various combination with mixed results. That said anything goes.. Guest guest
Thanks Alon. Please consider putting together a clinical manual with your experiences and brief summeries as you have given here on RLS. This would be very beneficial. Not to blow smoke, but I find your work very comprehensive and concerned with results, not traditionalism, dogma, or some system you have created. Thank you for your work.
