Guest guest
I am interested in adding acupressure to my treatment modalities so that I have a needless option. I am certified in both shiatsu and tui na, but unfortunately, I only learned how to treat muscular-skeletal issues with these. I am wondering if the basic acupuncture principles carry over into acupressure? For example, would I want to hold the points deeper/ longer time for excess and lighter/ shorter time for deficiency conditions? Is the point selection the same? How long, generally, is each point held? I would be happy to read a book or take a class if someone knows of a good one. I can't imagine it's really that different from acupuncture. I know when I have acute issue and no needles, acupressure helps quite a bit. I guess I could always try toothpicks! Thanks, Ariel
