Greetings everyone,

An e-mail I just got is really confusing the heck outa me. Here it is:

----

Dear Dr. Josh Barton,

I found you on the internet. I am honored to write to you to go on communication

on TCM and TCM clinical practice. Having seen your introduction on the website,

I know you are specialized in clinical practice of acupuncture and TCM. I think

it is necessary for me to contact with you.

I am Dr Huang Yuanzhong, coming from China and I am the administrator of

Traditional Research Center (TCM Centre). Our center, which has

been specialized in the traditional Chinese medicine research and the

traditional Chinese medicine exchange, has 30 years history. It is recognized

and supported by Chinese government and National TCM Research Department and is

the most authoritative & professional TCM organization covering TCM research,

education and medical clinic in the world. It has a powerful institute covering

various Chinese medicine aspects, like Natural Therapy, Acupuncture, Chinese

Herbal Medicine, Taiji, Qigong, Tuina and also Sino-western joint.

I am writing to you directly to check whether your email address is in use, and

wonder whether I can keep in touch with you by email, or you can provide me

another email address so that we can make further communication for our same

mission

I hope we can cooperate in the fields of Sino-western medicine joint and health

care and have an academic exchange on some other traditional Chinese medical

culture and theory. I also hope that we will have a deep discussion about any

medical topic we are interested in. It is my great honor to become friends with

you.

tcmadvisory2 is my conventional email address, and hopefully, we will

have friendly and fruitful contacts with each other in the future.

Looking forward to your reply

Best Wishes,

Dr. Huang Yuanzhong

----

I have no idea who Dr. Yuanzhong is, and I have no recollection of commenting on

his site, either.

Has anyone else gotten an e-mail like this or know Dr. Dr. Huang Yuanzhong or

his site http://www.tcmadvisory.com/?

thanks,

-- Josh Barton, C.M.T., H.H.C.

Josh,

I got the same letter.  'Sounds like it might be spam, but as it seemed innocent

enough I responded:

" I am in receipt of your letter and would be happy to correspond with you on

topics of mutual interest.  Please let me know how I can be of assistance. "

That was about 3 days ago.

All the best,

Hi All,

I received several spam emails supposedly from two different TCM members.  I

know one of them personally, because we went to school together, so this

surprised me.
