The " Xiao-ke " [Wasting & Thirst] Pattern could be diabetic symptoms.

Xiao-ke is discussed in Chapter 13 of " Jin Gui Yao Lue " (Essential

Prescriptions from the Golden Cabinet), by Zhang Zhong-jing (Eastern

Han Dynasty circa 200 AD). See: http://tinyurl.com/cc85nn - " On pulse

syndrome complex, and treatment of Wasting-Thirst, Stranguria and

Urinary Disturbances. "

Bencao Gangmu and Shanghanlun also mention it. Is there an earlier

reference? See list of TCM Classics at http://tinyurl.com/cjavya

Best regards,
