Guest guest
This patient at Children's Hospital in Boston got sick in Jan. a few days after her brother had diarrhea. She also had diarrhea and has been unable to hold food since. She has pain along the ST channel in the thigh, inflamation in the Hara that is such that you can palpate the heat 6 inches above the abdomen and pain in the wrist. The wrist was xrayed and they thought the scaphoid bone was broken. They put a cast on. When the cast came off the pain was still there and a recent MRI showed acute inflamation of the area. The inflamation falls along the LU/LI channel. She is unable to walk except in shuffling steps because if she takes big steps there is terrible pain from CV 3 to CV 14. They have suggested, because of the variety of pain and the lack of a clear diagnosis that it is possible that this is in her head. The mother is confused and the girl is worried that maybe it is in her head. They are going back to Kansas City in a few days. Does anyone have a recommendation for a TCM practitioner in the area I can refer them to. I direct the Shiatsu program at Children's. I do not work withthe kids, just the families so my information is limited. What I have desribed is what I found sitting with the young girl for few minutes. Thanks for any help. Guest guest
Hi. Wow. This sounds pretty inconclusive for a modern medical hospital. No intravenous, no labwork? What is wrong here? No insurance? Doesn't make sense. Heat so strong may/must be drawn off. Abdominal guasha with cooling lotion, followed by covering, followed by guasha w cooling herb, followed by covering, to allow heat to come to surface... for a few times. Watch, observe carefully. Also bleeding ting points. Then see if appetite slowly returns. Heat in MJ will refuse food, feeling to full and troubled. Extreme heat causes wind, shaking, looks like weak. Extreme heat, alcohol bath. Need more info. --- On Sat, 4/18/09, shiatsuamma <shiatsuamma wrote: shiatsuamma <shiatsuamma 11 year old girl unable to eat since Jan. Guest guest
ps All these procedures are not to be done if you don't what I'm talking about. There are signs, and when enough is enough, and sequence and timing considerations. eg, Alcohol bath means an alcohol rub to cool the surface... in extremis --- On Sun, 4/19/09, mystir <ykcul_ritsym wrote: mystir <ykcul_ritsym Re: 11 year old girl unable to eat since Jan.
