a patient of mine just asked my opinion on acai for weight loss. i

haven't researched it at all, so i told her i'd look into it. of

course i have my doubts about anything with such hype, but i thought

i'd see if any of you have an educated opinion on the subject. my

patient is a 59 year old woman who i have been treating for

menopausal hot flashes with acupuncture only, which have reduced

significantly. she is somewhat overweight but not obese.

thanks again

It will only work if she eats better and exercises. It doesn't work for

weightloss unless perhaps she uses it instead of soda. It is really expensive

fruit juice.

Be well,

Acai is a fruit. Maybe the juice fills up the stomach.

Otherwise, why would it be better than apple juice or anything else?

Maybe she heard that on Oprah? Oprah is really touting Acai and of

course... weight loss.
