You could always go to the originators and call up Lincoln Hospital in

the Bronx, NYC. No charge.

I did, back in 1997. Very good, very real and very hands on.

I did this as part of my acupuncture program.  We took a basic weekend course,

lecture and practicing.  That qualified us to be working in the drug treament

centers of inner city Baltimore.  You had to be in clinic to needle.  There

was always an acupuncture supervisor there.  There were a certain number of

hours required as part of graduation requirements.  Then there was an advanced

course, that I took, also a weekend, more indepth lecture and a paper required.

I don't know about the cost benefit of the training.  I do know if you really

want to do this addictions work, it is probably a good idea to take it.  We

have a certified trainer here in Maryland who travels as well.  His website is

www.TheChiFarm.com   Dave Wurzel, trainer.

Hi,

I did the didactic hours of NADA in school and need a certain amount of

clinical hours to get NADA certification...

Are there any centers on the West Coast that can provide this?

CA, Bay area?

This is the response I got from Dave Wurzel, who is the  NADA trainer. He was

in charge of all the CHI, Community Health Initiatives, in Baltimore for our

acupuncture school.

You can contact him at www.TheChiFarm.com

Are you in Berkley?  I thought you were in Chicago.  That is why he made

reference to it.  This would really hold anywhere.

Dave Wurzel:

I have the training set up where there is only 1 in-class time (3 days for

acupuncturists).  They will have to set up or arrange for the clinical portion.

There are places in Chicago that do the NADA protocol so they might be able to

volunteer.  Being acupuncturists they don’t need direct supervision other

than for point location, etc.
