Guest guest
I am glad to see some praise of Arnaud Versluys' amazing series of seminars on the Shang Han Lun! Coming up April 11-12th is Shang Han Lun case studies... I have attended the whole series since September and have become ever more fascinated after each seminar. Arnaud Versluys is capable of single-handedly revealing the depth and beauty of the medical Cannons, while showing the wide applicability of SHL formulae in modern day clinics ... no small feat!... a little bit like playing Shakespeare on a modern stage... a lot of meaning come to light. Have you ever wondered what was behind a sentence of the Shang Han Lun, or felt boggled trying to navigate your way from transmutation to transmutation?... Arnaud's lectures are clear and lively; he brings his dual experience as a scholar and a clinician to explain/treat real life patient through the lens of Classical formula architecture. I highly recommend this beautiful class! You will leave with more clarity for your patients and more awe and wonder for the Classics... and 16 CEU's if you need them. You can see their website at www.shanghanlunsemniars.com or call (650)678-1102. Happy studying and practicing to all, Genevieve Le Goff. Guest guest
I'd like to enthusiastically second this notion! As a student still in school, studying " TCM " , it is enlightening to see these classical formulas grouped into families. It reveals yet another level of elegance of the Shang Han Lun and Jin Gui Yao Lue formulas. If you are struggling with TCM, or feel as though there is something " missing " , don't worry; No, you are not crazy. It is for good reason, and you are not alone. I see rampant symptomatic Tx & allopathic use of herbs in our school's clinic; just because you are using Chinese herbs to treat patients doesn't mean you are practicing Chinese medicine... And just because you're having tortillas, queso & hot sauce for lunch doesn't mean you're eating Mexican food. You want to be the Taco Bell of your profession? You want to add Ban Xia to your formula to " treat " phlegm?? Come on, people!!
