Guest guest
I am a first year practioner and need alittle help with a patient I have. She is a 65yr old lady who is 90lbs and 5'3 has trouble gaining weight. She was referred to me by a chiropractor and medical Dr. She had shoulder surgery 3yrs ago d/t torn rotar cuff w/bone spurs. After surgery she felt more pain. Went through testing, they found she had pericardial effusion gave her medicine which she wouldn't take because the Contraindication is Osteoperosis which she has. They do a echo to keep an eye on it. Her last Cardiologist was 2yrs ago. she gets stabbing pain from UB14 around to Ren 16 this started a couple months ago when she came to Florida. she has mitral valve prolapse, hypotention, hemorroids, frequent urination and urgency, fatigue, gas/bloating after eating, poor concentration, migraines/HA from occiput to right eye. tachycardia, depression,Tongue is red/purple Pulse is wiry rapid slight slippery. Her bowel were more hard w/ constipation. After treatment easier and larger. Stabbing pain was less with more heaviness. Today she said yesterday the pain was taking her breath away as she pointed to Ren 17 area. When she comes into the office her pain is always a 2/10 scale. I know she has quite a few things going on as well emotional issues. I referred her to a Cardiologist here in Florida even though she is scheduled for one next month when she goes back to Michigan. She has Liv/Sp/Ki/Ht issues. How would you treat this patient and what herbals would you give her? Does anyone know of an Acupuncturist in Michigan? Sorry I'm not sure exactly where I will get that next treatment. Thank you, Renee Jensen A.P reneejensenap
Guest guest
Renee, I hope it is not too late for you. I usually precribe individual medicinal but in your special case,I would use liu wei di huang wan (Six Ingredient Rehmannia Pill) combining with sheng mai san (Pulse-Engendering Powder), 6:4. You can precribe for one week dosage at the beginning and up to one month. It should be pretty safe. Don't try to treat bloating issue or it may backfire and transmutation arises. My 2 cents, SUNG, Yuk-ming PhD (Chengdu UTCM), BA(Houston), L Ac(Hong Kong)¡@¡@
Guest guest
-Thank you for your 2 cents!! I really appreciate anything anyone has to offer. I thank Mark as well. My patient is seeing her Cardiologist today so I hope to have some diagnostics soon. One of my teachers have told me that Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tong would be a good choice to build her until her Cardiologist has all her testing done. I will keep you informed.
