Guest guest
Hello all with conversations and threads running thick and fast lately, the amount of 'stuff' one receives in the daily digest - a great way to follow what's happening - is just extreme. I belong to another group in which top-posting is prohibited. And you get a little tap on the shoulder from moderators if you do. Repeat offenders may post-no-more! The expectation is that we edit extraneous stuff from original posts, and take the time to deliberately respond to specific points. This keeps us all neat, succinct, and on-purpose, and probably a little less emotional when we're into a provocative topic. I call 'glumph' all those previous posts to a thread, which are repeated over and over, and running for ages and pages beneath most posts... not the ideas and opinions, just the repetitionnnnnnnnnnnnn arrgg This list's own Netiquette files state: " Don't quote back an entire message when only responding to one or two points. Delete the excess and make a note at the very top before starting the quotes. Some e-mail programs will automatically set up to quote the original message when replying and put you at the end of that message. This is very annoying to your recipients.
