Guest guest
I just called blue shield regarding a new patient (I am out of network), and along with getting the basic plan info, asked if there were any restrictions on what they would cover in terms of acupuncture. I was told that acupuncture is covered for nausea caused from pregnancy, surgery or chemo. All other codes, including any pain codes, are considered " investigational " . Does anyone know what " investigational " means? Anyone out there billing blue shield know if acupuncture is covered for anything besides nausea? This patients DOES have nausea, but not from surgery, chemo or pregnancy! thanks for your help friends, -- " Helping your body heal itself " , MS, L.Ac; Abundance Acupuncture Clinic,
Guest guest
Join the network, fill out the forms and then call the provider number, I'm not in your state but there should be more codes than that I think, as a non-provider its going to be hard to work with them...
