Guest guest
Stephen, Thanks for the link... From taking 5 weekends of Arnaud's Shang han lun classes, I can say that he is both articulate and energizing in his inspirational lectures. I have no problem in prescribing a very succinct, focused and effective formula with less than 10 herbs. Six months ago, that was always a challenge. The forum at arnaudversluys.com is also a great resource for classical formulaism. Arnaud is very generous with his knowledge and experience. Looking forward to the case studies weekends. Guest guest
Arnaud has a gift for teaching this material. I've learned a lot from his work, essential stuff I haven't heard before. One doesn't have to stick with only SHL/JGYL prescriptions to use this material, but one will learn how to carefully modify classical prescriptions without going off into chaos. Composing prescriptions is like writing a musical score, it has to be written just as carefully or you get a lot of noise instead of harmonious music. Guest guest
I watched the video last night. Some superior material, inferior audio quality. Whomever is recording these videos would be well advised to better mike the speaker. The echo in the room and periodic coughing preventing me from really getting all I could from this otherwise great streaming video. -al. Guest guest
Thanks for posting this video! I really like his idea of emulating the masters in the original, classical style before going off and developing our own. The way I see most people modifying formulas today is somewhat reminiscent of all that went wrong (culturally) in the 1980s: Milli Vanilli, neon color palettes, crimped hair, spandex, etc. Just because technology enables us to combine 20+ herb powders into one formula doesn't mean we should. Guest guest
Ha, that's really funny! I'll have to remember this metaphor! Milli Vanilli prescriptions!
