Guest guest
Good morning all- Several years ago, I had purchased a jar of pearl cream from Golden Flower Herbs. It's been fabulous for my dry eyelids, and the only moisturizer I've found which doesn't make my vision blurry, and isn't so strongly scented that it irritates my eyes. Trouble is, Golden Flower has discontinued making it and they are unable to recommend another supplier. Do any of you our there know of a good source for this? Guest guest
Andrea, Mayway carries 2 kinds of pearl cream.. the Spic Shanghai and Ballet Brands. You can call them and ask them about any scents. www.mayway.com You can also make your own by mixing pearl powder with another cream that you like to use as a carrier. You can get pearl powder from China town. The more expensive the better. If you buy it by the pound, it costs over $100 or the vials are 10 for $10. K. Guest guest
I've always heard about the scare of " parabens " . The Precious Pearl Cream has two kinds. What's the risk with them? Anecdotally, especially Asian women love to have white pearly skin, the color of porcelain China. Pearl cream can relieve acne and clear inflammation as well, as long as it's not too oily (for people w/ oily skin). Pearl powder is used internally for insomnia and skin issues as well. K. Guest guest
Hi Andrea, Mayway has the Ballet brand without the gunk in it... well... it's white, not pink colored... so I guess it's pretty gunk free! ;-) And my female patients love it. I bought some pure pearl powder in Beijing a couple years ago, I'm just trying to get the guts up to make it into a cataract solution in an eye dropper. Guest guest
In searching for this online, I noticed warnings about staying out of direct sunlight. Is this peeling off the first layer of skin, like Retin A. I just had my eyebrows waxed today and they ask if you are on Retin A. Would Pearl Cream be something to worry about - the skin being thinned out so that it would break with waxing. I am looking for the perfect face cream and this Pearl Cream sounded interesting, since I had heard about it in a facial acupuncture workshop. Anne -- Anne C.
