Guest guest
See Debra Betts book - Acupuncture in Preganancy and Childbirth - and her seminars... you'll discover there's so much more we can offer, than the 'ultra-cautious' 'so many points are forbidden' approach which most of us received in our education and training. You can get the book from here: http://www.chinesemedicinetimes.com/product/193/171/the_essential_guide_to_acupu\ ncture_in_pregnancy_and_childbirth Regards Attilio
Guest guest
37 weeks is WAY too soon to induce - is there a medical reason? A couple of tips: 1. As always, treat the pattern 2. Mosca is right - check your malpractice. However, there is nothing prohibitive about treating the 37 weeker every week until she goes in labor. Or the 40 weeker every day for stress. But be clear. Hope you have extended coverage or an insurer that covers full scope. 3. GB 34 aids cervical ripening 4. check to see if the lung pulse if superficial. If it is rooted, disperse it. (LU/KI relationship - if the LU is too tight, the KI " water " (baby) is also held tight. 5. Discourage either of your clients from taking any western herbs to prepare for or start labor other than red raspberry. Sometimes women take Blue cohosh without a medical indications, and it can make labor less productive. 6. Press tacks at SP 6 & GB 21 encourage engagement. 7. Extra point Du yin (middle of distal phalageal joint on dorsum of toe) 8. BL 32 - where are you? Is saline injection in your scope? Saline injection in this point, even if at the surface is very helpful. 9. E stim, sometimes LI 4 to SP 6 other times estim from auricular to LI4/SP 6 - Macciocia describes this protocol well. 10. Use ear posterior pituitary 11. Treat daily 12. After each and every of these tips, refer back to #1. Good luck.
