Hi, I would appreciate some suggestions with the lower back pain patient. 27 yr

old female with a history of severe endometriosis, has experiences LBD for last

3 years with all diagnostics coming up negative. She has deep dark blue veins

about 1/4 inch long on her lower and upper back; they seem to be too deep for

bleeding. They are a bit thicker and what you usually see, meaning not just thin

lines. I tried cupping with little improvement. Moxa seems to help but the

improvement is slow, we are already at the 9th tretament and she has reached

only about 20%. Any suggestions? I didn't try bleeding yet, the veins are deep,

and the client is sensitive.

Dear Sami,

Thanks for your reply.

Will try the ear seeds then.

Just to clarify something else the neurasthenia points and deep sleep

correspond to any chinese points at all?

I was checking for the Dr.Li-chun Huang's books and chart but found them

available in America only and a bit overprice for me to buy and ship to europe

at the moment.

Thanks so much,

Sonia

Hi Angela. Could you take photographs? What is her tongue like?

Moxa sounds like it is indicated. Are you going to try any herbals? What is the

rest of her presentation like?

I personally wouldn't worry about moving fast with a patient like this if there

are fairly consistent, trackable improvements.

Think about it: 9 treatments (= nine hours over nine weeks?). History of

" severe " endometriosis, LBP for THREE YEARS, has deep blue veins on her _back_

for gosh sake's, it all sounds like a yin condition (blood stasis +

deficiency)...yin doesn't move fast... I would encourage her to take her time. I

would also personally put her on a low fee unless she's well off.

I wonder if she's eating many cold foods, or eating at all, or has a history of

these behaviours?

Anyway, those are just some thoughts,

Hugo

Sounds like Kidney Yang def, which means cupping or bleeding won't do

much as the stasis is caused by chronic def.

Use moxa or a heat lamp on Mingmen, Guilai, Qihai and Guanyuan. Also

the formula Wen Jing Tang will help. Get her to eat a lot of Yang

foods as well.
