I need help with a patient of mine. I need to choose a formula for him

he does not mind

taking granules.

He is male 60 years old. He used to do a

lot of alcohol drinking and drugs and a lot of sex. He quit drinking and drugs.

He does a lot

of exercise and has tendency to addiction. His new addiction is

exercise. His main problem is frequent night urination it is getting

better though he used to get up 6-7 times a night but now

only 3-4. It still disturbs his sleep a lot. He has cloudy urination

and dribbling of urine.

He has thinks he has enlarged prostate but no definite diagnosis since

he has not been to a doctor MD in 20 years. He has no pain or burning

with urination and that is good.He is irritable and easily gets angry.

Other problem that during sex he cann't hold erection very long. That

is all that I know about his sexual health. He also has nightmares.

Tongue: first time he came he had swollen with teethmarks.

Second time he had: yellow greasy coating a lot of it more in the

middle but really all over the tongue so I thought that he has damp

heat in lower jiao.

Last time I have seen him: he does not have greasy yellow coating anymore.

Pulse: last time i seen him was very weak and thin

I need help with formula. I have given him Rabdosia Prostate Formula

from golden flower it is more for prostate cancer with heat signs. Now

I need to help him with his frequent urination at night. So I thought

of giving him granules since he does not mind.

I found the formula that has no name for that the herbs are:

YI Zi Ren, Wu Yao, Shan Yao, Sang Piao Xiao, Wu Wei Zi, Shan Zhu Yu, Bu GU Zhi,

it is said use it with salt and grain based liquor I wander how it

will work without it.

Another herb that is useful is Tu Si zi it is for freq. urine,

dribbling or turbid urine.

The points that I have used are yintang, 3 jiaos, Ren 3 and 4, Sp 6, Sp 9.

I think he has kidney qi and yang deficiency. I would alternate front

and back treatment

using also KI 23, Du4 and UB 52.

Should I also add moxa?

His chief complain is frequent cloudy urination at night an dribbling.

Thank you for your help.

Hi, Yuliya:

Frequent urination can be caused by several different patterns. Based on your

description, you might want to consider binding depression of liver qi.

Can you please tell us the time sequence of how often you saw this patient? How

much time passed between visits?

Regards, Jack

Thank you for your reply.

I have seen him every week or every 10 days for about 4 treatments.

I think I should tell him to come 2 or 3 times a week.

Yuliya
