Guest guest
I have been trying to convince DH of that for years! I gave him some liver cleanse tea the other night, and he wanted a second mug of it. Within 30 minutes, he felt sick to his stomach. I didn't tell him he was detoxing like mad, But I will let him only have 1 cup at a time from now on. Guest guest
The scratching method sounds a lot like using wang bu liu xing (vaccaria) seeds as an irritant on a point. It is the fruit of tree, Camptotheca > acuminata Decne (Xi Shu): It can be found in the zhong yao da ci dian. The fruit and root are both called han4 lian2 & #26097; & #33714; or xi3 shu4 & #21916; & #26641;, the latter name also refers to the Chinese botanical name of the plant. Its principle alkaloid is xi3 shu4 jian3 & #21916; & #26641; & #30897;, camptothecine. I believe that the official name for the herb is han lian, but it appears in the zhong yao da ci dian as xi shu (and han lian shares characters with the herb eclipta, which is officially called mo han lian but it often called han lian cao, making the use of the name han lian potentially confusing). In addition to camptothecine (xi shu jian), there are a few similar alkaloids in the whole herb preparation- whether they are useful or not medically, I have no idea. It also contains hydroxycamptothecine, deoxycamptothecine, and methoxycamptothecine. Here's some CM info on the fruit and root (translated from zhong yao da ci dian): Fructus seu Radix Camptothecae Camptotheca acuminata Decne. cold; bitter, astringent; toxic Tx: cancer; acute & chronic leukemia; hepatosplenomegaly due to schistosomiasis. (I saw in the database that it was also mentioned for psoriasis, but I didn't see it when I looked at the zydcd) By decoction, the dose range is 3-5 qian of the root bark or 1-3 qian of the fruit. It notes that the fruit is generally regarded as more effective but more toxic. The bark of the tree, xi shu pi, is used as well, and it is specifically indicated for psoriasis. The bark or twigs are made into a concentrated decoction which is mixed with an oil base and applied topically. The leaves are also used, but they are instead indicated for the initial-stage of swollen boils, welling-abscesses, & sores. Topically apply crushed & mixed with a pinch of salt. Guest guest
Hi Jason I found seven articles about the treatment of psoriasis with xishujian (the jian is apparently " soda/alkaloid " )ϲ˜ä‰A. If you have Wan Fang access is searched psoriasis in title and then for xisujian in the full text of the results of the first search. I only searched the more " technical " sounding term for psoriasis. If you don't have access I downloaded them and might be able to pull out the abstracts (see example below). Grabbing text from these is problematic, especially with roman letters and numbers and the PDF's have an encryption that makes them unviewable on computers that didn't download them... worse comes to worse I can print a couple and snail mail them to you. Guest guest
Eric, I do appreciate your post, but maybe there was some miscommunication in what I am looking for. I am already aware that xi shu jian (fruit of the xi shu tree) is used for psoriasis. I am looking for information or people's experience in efficacy, where to get it, as well as preparation methods for CPT (made from fruit not the not the bark.) Barks as we know can be drastically different in nature and action (i.e. sang bai pi and sang shen). The preparations of CPT (what I am interested in) as I understand it, are quite tricky to make due to its toxicity. There are specific ratios that you need to make this topical (which many times is from a standardized extract with Vaseline). One cannot just slather on some xi shu jian, from what I understand. The pubmed was also already previously checked and one can notice that there are not even any abstracts for the entries that are of any note. I will check out Par's leads they seem promising. Thanks Par and Eric. If other's have any more information I would love to hear about it. - _____ On Behalf Of Eric Brand Wednesday, June 27, 2007 10:59 AM Re: psoriasis @ <%40> , " " wrote: > > Eric, > > > > Yes I got all of that, but I am interested in its use for psoriasis, any > info on that? Guest guest
I will be more looking for what people recommend for this than adding to the answer... but without really having any knowledge, I am using teatree shampoo .... I have psoriasis in my scalp... Is patchouli supposed to help? The teatree is really great for soothing the burning symptoms... doesn't seem to be alleviating it, however.. What if I got some actual tea tree oil? Would that do anything? My lymph nodes in my neck are a little swollen, and they said it is most likely from my scalp. So I am guessing some staph is growing as well.. Please anyone who knows more to add or answers to the questions... Help. Thanks!! Other wise pine tar soap is good for it. Also when I get really frustrated. I use a sulfur paste that I got at the mexican specialty aisle in HEB, (If you don't have an HEB, then look on line for either a sulfur soap, or a sulfur paste) (sulfur dries things out.) Aspirin (is salicylic acid) I've also found that nioxin (has rosemary and peppermint in it) helps too. (and it's a really great shampoo too. ) It makes my hair look like I have some... Guest guest
Morning all,  I use cold-pressed macadamia oil! It seems to work on a lot of skin problems. If I had psoriasis on the scalp (or anywhere else) I would massage it into the scalp then wash with a pure shampoo.  Don't use any shampoo with synthetics, sls, sla and things you can't pronounce or spell! Coconut oil (for good cleaning) Olive oil (because it is great for your skin) Macadamia oil (because it is my favourite oil in so many ways) then whatever essential oil you wish to use. Use sodium hydroxide with water, add the other oils; beat like mad and pour into moulds.  When firm take out of moulds and cut to size. Leave to get rock hard. You'll never go back  Regards Merinda  Don't burn your bridges until you have built a pontoon Get the name you always wanted with the new y7mail email address. www.7.com.au/mail

Guest guest
Hi.. Since it is a skin thing if the blood is toxic that can show evidence in skin problems....A fast detox is what helped me get rid of the cause/causes and did detox out the meds and other 'stuff' such as parasites, toxins, etc. (long story) Mary In a message dated 5/9/2010 10:55:15 A.M. Guest guest
Most udder balms are loaded withgarbage ingredients like: propylene glycol, methylparaben, propylparaben, etc. Putting these ingredients on the skin is especially damaging if you are exposed to any UV light. This is analogous to frying your food in motor oil. Do you know of any udder balms that are healthy? I think taking vitamin A, and zinc internally is impotrtant in addition to some good sun exposure without getting a burn. Shea butter, MMS, MSM, lanolin, Egyptian Magic, aloe, and homeopathic ointments can all be helpful if you can't get a good udder balm/--- On Sun, 5/9/10, Jane MacRoss <highfield1 wrote: Jane MacRoss <highfield1Re: Psoriasis Date: Sunday, May 9, 2010, 3:48 AM Detox, elimination diets and I have heard that cow udder ointment helps topically, each patient is different as far as some needs are concerned. Guest guest
My friend is vegetarian and the only thing that has helped him for years is one of the Neway's creams. The barrier cream, 15 years he's used this for - he wont be without it.
