The remainder of this article will demonstrate the following adverse effects of wheat on both celiac and non-celiac populations:

1) wheat causes damage to the intestines

2) wheat causes intestinal permeability

3) wheat has pharmacologically active properties

4) wheat causes damage that is “out of the intestine” affecting distant organs

Wheat should be eaten sprouted, not only in flour or whole form.

Wheat should be eaten sprouted, not only in flour or whole form. Liz ============================

 

Why 'should' wheat be eaten at all? If we follow our forbearers.... what is usually referred to as Palaeolithic (?sp) they were not farmers, but hunter gatherers...... they ate seasonal foods.... and did not stay in one place to plant and harvest and store grains at all.

 

The early grains that they may have harvested on their travels are nothing like the modified grains that are foisted on humanity today. It seems that many humans have an intolerance to grains and what they contain, and this could possibly be one of the causes of the many diseases rampant right now - through gut damaging etc and poisons entering into and thru the gut wall.

I agree we have evolved into not enough variety of grains being eaten, too much

processing, and eating non organically. Sprouting of any grain changes the way

it metabolizes and lessens reaction while still gaining some good nutrition.

The major problem with wheat started when some American bakery proved their bread in 3 hours instead of overnight and this then was somehow made law, overnight proving of bread has minimal problems with the gluten.

You are of course correct Jane, that for some people IF the bread is allowed to rise naturally, then they should have little issues with the grain content. STILL there are some who are seriously wheat intolerant.... oats too for me.... and I am not celiac according to my biopsy.

Very good point Jane. Overall we have issues when things are just not prepared

properly, coupled with over use of certain grains.

Rotation diets help some people tolerate a wider range of foods, elimination

diets can help pinpoint problem areas, cutting out wheat gluten and milk can

be simple to try, and helpful for many people - everyone is different and
