on December 24th, I reported that the Federal Aviation Administration

had designated the Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS) as

one of the reporting centers for UFO sightings and unexplained

The FAA video above has now reportedly been removed from the FAA

website, but the very existence of the video illustrates the scope of

Robert Bigelow’s enterprises into the FAA reporting protocol. Other

bloggers have voiced their opinions as well - More

State Director Admits to 'Misleading the Public'. Anyway, I don't

really want to rehash these arguments though it does demonstrate

judgment and priorities. But, there is something I was made aware of

tonight that has me wondering 'what is going on in the hierarchy of

ufology?'

 

I was contacted by a colleague, Roger A. Briggs, who stated in a memo

that something was afoot in the recent Lake Erie UFO sightings near

Cleveland, Ohio. Eugene Erlikh had been videotaping the UFO's for

several weeks and had posted his findings on YouTube. Subsequently, the

national media became interested...thus, MUFON figured they had better

get involved as well. MUFON assigned Tom Wertmen to Eugene Erlikh's

case. MUFON's first determination was that this was the planet Venus,

but they finally concluded that Eugene was filming aircraft coming in

and out over Lake Erie from Hopkins-Cleveland International Airport.

MUFON's Tom Wertmen alleged he corroborated with unnamed air traffic

controllers at the airport, but no names or references were given. Was

the FAA possibly involved?

 

Friday night on The Alien Agenda

radio, both Eugene Erlikh and Michael Lee Hill were featured on the

show. Both had filmed unknown multicolored orb/craft over Lake Erie and

coincidentally live within 5 minutes of each other in Cleveland.

Michael's videos go further back to 2006 and Eugene's are more recent.

On April 6, 2010 Michael and Eugene unknowingly and simultaneously

filmed similar multicolored orb/craft on the same night and at the same

time or within minutes of each other. Both videographers made this

discovery just yesterday as well.

 

According to Erlikh, at approximately 6:45pm EST, on Thursday night

(April 8, 2010) a private telephone call came into his residence.

Eugene answered and the man on the other end assumed to know it was

Eugene and called him by name. The man identified himself as a member

of Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies. He did give his name and

email that is, in fact, linked to the BAASS.ORG domain name. He asked

Eugene a number of questions pertaining to the sightings over Lake

Erie. The man then demanded Eugene give up the exact coordinates of the

location the lights are appearing. When Eugene questioned the man, he

stated he knew the lights were not terrestrial or from this planet and

there's big money involved in obtaining that technology. He instructed

Eugene to email him the coordinates. Eugene immediately hung up the

telephone.

 

The first video was made by

Michael Lee Hill on April 6th, 2010 and the second was made by Eugene

Erlikh on the same night at approximately the same time

Now, let's assume the comments made by Erlikh are factual. I have no

reason not to believe he is telling the truth based on his diligence in

recording these events in an honest manner and not refusing to disclose

any information to MUFON. But, when someone unknown to you calls your

residence, identifies themselves as a representative of BAASS and

demands information, well, it's time to start questioning people's

motives.

 

Recently, Alfred Lambremont Webre of Examiner.com posted a very

interesting article - Robert

Bigelow's and MUFON's hybrid UFO investigation venture 'under review'

in 2010. Mr. Webre discusses a leaked memo referencing the problems

plaguing the MUFON-BAASS relationship as well as a statement issued by

former MUFON international director James Carrion as part of his

January 26, 2010 resignation letter.

 

Later though, Mr. Webre writes: MUFON’s

Mark Easter pointedly stated, “I want to deal with the big picture –

the level that Dr. Kelleher discussed with you. The BAASS – MUFON

program is a good program. BAASS did not want to manage MUFON and MUFON

did not want to manage BAASS. The only issue was an accounting issue.â€

 

Mr. Easter stated, “The best outcome would be for the BAASS-MUFON

relationship to get back on track.â€

 

Mr. Easter continued, “MUFON has a computerized case management UFO

reporting system now. To MUFON volunteers who are ready to be on 24

hour standby in this economy, the BAASS-MUFON agreement is a God-send.â€

 

To this reporter, Mark Easter’s case for BAASS-MUFON resurrection seems

a reasonable one.

 

Since the FAA initiative allowed BAASS to investigate pilot sightings

and the fact that they later tried to gloss over this directive, seems

to suggest that their reasoning is somewhat ambiguous.

 

So where does this leave the MUFON-BAASS relationship? I respect Mr.

Webre's opinion but, frankly, I get the sense that MUFON has been

compromised to a point where it will never be an independent entity

again. Hey, money talks...the person handing it out does the talking. I

will continue to present the information available and watch to see if

'where there's smoke, there's fire.' I suppose time will tell, though I

question if the right of the public to access the truth about UFOs and

extraterrestrials will ever be achieved...Lon

Location/Houston, Texas - 1998 - late night

 

Pamela Stonebrook, the well-known jazz singer, whose first recorded

abduction is dated 1994 (but she had earlier abductions, suppressed in

her memory since her childhood) reported that she later had sexual

contacts with a reptilian entity. The sex was very unlike any sex with

any human man.

 

On that night she was sleeping when suddenly she awoke and found that

she was having sex with someone beautiful “like a Greek Godâ€. The man

was tall, blond, light haired with a beautiful face. At first she

thought that it was just a dream. But the sex was so furious that she

closed her eyes and enjoyed the all-submerging feelings. When she again

opened her eyes, she didn’t see the beautiful blond slender man but

before her she instead saw a reptilian entity with scaly skin. At that

moment she understood that the alien visitor was able to camouflage its

appearance.

 

Afraid of the alien’s real appearance, she cowered back. But then she

heard a telepathic message from her partner... “With me you are safe.

We have been together forever, we love each otherâ€. Maybe they had been

together forever indeed but Pamela only remembered the encounters since

1998. Pamela described her reptilian lover as very sensitive and very

intelligent, his body resembled that of the body of a snake, solid, but

smooth, greenish or yellow-green in color. The eyes of the reptilian

were larger than human eyes and she noticed different tints in the

alien’s eyes---golden, red and brown. The alien’s eyes reminded her of

a cat’s eyes, with vertical pupils, but very beautiful. His neck was

massive and on the top of his head he had a crest and two openings and

a small bulge for a nose.

 

Pamela finally was able to talk to her family and friends about her

encounters and said, “Frankly speaking, I don’t care a rap if anyone

would laugh at my story, because I myself would react the same

way---before it happened to me.â€

HUGE RED EYES LOOKING BACK!

 

Location/Northern Virginia - January 2001 - 3:00 am

 

Several family members living in a remote location heard strange

screams or yells coming from the woods resembling that of a woman

crying out in pain. Terrified, they called the police and went out to

investigate. The police searched the area with high-powered lights but

could not find anything. Some time later they heard the screams again

and again the police were summoned and again nothing was found. Next

time they decided not to call the police again.

 

Days later the dogs were heard barking in the backyard. A female

witness points the flashlight out back and sees 2 huge red eyes looking

back at her. She focuses the light on the eyes but can't make out the

figure. She yelled out for additional family members but the eyes

disappeared. She vaguely sees a dark figure run into the woods.

 

A couple of months later, the main witness was taking a stroll near the

horse trailer when he saw a huge figure, with gray wiry fur and black

patches. The terrified witness froze in place and fixed the flashlight

on the creature, which moved behind the trailer and vanished. Day's

later neighbors saw a similar creature in their backyard.

'CHRISTMAS LIGHT' HEADS

 

Location/Southern Illinois - May 2, 2003 - 3:30 am

 

Three young women returning from a bonfire and party in the countryside

and had just finished returning some of the equipment and chairs to a

shed. As they got back into the van one of the girls saw a figure

standing a little off the driveway by the house. She motioned the

others to look at it and becoming afraid headed back into town.

 

They described the figure as man-like, light colored or wearing white

clothing. Soon they headed over to the bonfire, which was still

burning. Suddenly in the glow of the headlights they all saw what

appeared to be two separate rows of creatures or figures. Maybe 15 to

each row and about approximately 3 to 4 ft tall and standing only about

15 ft from them, directly in front of the car. One of the witnesses

described them as having 'Christmas light' heads and that the heads

were connected to the body but she couldn't see how. Their arms were

up, but she couldn't see hands. She says they were stick-like, dark

gray or brown in color. They did not move and stood perfectly still.

They appeared to be frozen in two separate rows. Two of the girls began

to cry and screamed for the driver to leave the area immediately.

Terrified they drove away from the area and drove around for about 2

hours before having the courage to return back to their homes.

'WHAT'S A PIZZA?'

 

Location/New Town, Edinburgh, Scotland - 1990 - late evening

 

A man named Brian Wilson was working the late shift one night at a

local pizza parlor when a pair of "rather small" adults, who had a

somewhat "lopsided" look about them, approached the counter, raised

their right hands, and announced; "Hi, we're Americans!"

 

"What would you like?" Brian asked them.

 

They countered, "What do you make?"

 

"Pizzas" replied Brian.

 

"What are pizzas?" inquired the supposed Americans.

 

The couple watched Brian intently as he prepared two cheese and tomato

pizzas. All the while, the male "kept looking around the shop like he'd

never been in a pizza parlor before". Then the female pointed to a bowl

of green peppers and asked what they were.

 

By now, Brian's colleague Doug had also noticed that there was

something rather odd about the pair, and the two chefs exchanged

glances of disbelief as Brian carefully explained what a pepper was.

 

"Do they taste nice?" wondered the female.

 

As the pair waited in silence for their pizzas (complete with green

peppers) to cook, other customers came in and out of the shop as usual.

Once their order was ready, the extraordinary Americans settled their

bill. Each took a single bite out of their pizza then threw the

remainder into the bin outside the shop.

 

Brian entertained a suspicion that his visitors may have literally been

from another planet "I had read stories on the subject of aliens

masquerading as human beings," he told investigators. "These two

individuals came across as acting as humans, but not doing a very good

job of it!"

- Bacteria in the guts of some Japanese people may have acquired the

ability to digest seaweed because of the sushi their human hosts

consume, researchers have reported. The evolved trait enables their

human hosts to digest carbohydrates found in edible seaweed such as

nori, whose tough cell walls the human body cannot process on its own.

 

The finding, published Thursday in the journal Nature, was stumbled

upon by biochemists at the National Center for Scientific Research and

Pierre and Marie Curie University in France while seeking enzymes that

could digest carbohydrates in the walls of certain red algae.

 

They were not surprised to discover genes carrying the code for such

enzymes in several seaborne microbes that live and feast on the algae.

 

But they were surprised when a genetic database revealed evidence of

the same genes in a completely different habitat: the human gut,

specifically, a Japanese gut.

 

"We were astonished," said study co-author Mirjam Czjzek of the

university's Roscoff Biological Station. "But rather quickly, when we

saw it was a Japanese sample, we got the connection."

 

The researchers then searched for signs of the genes in two sets of

data: one gathered from bacteria living in the guts of 18 North

Americans and the other from those of 13 Japanese. They found signs of

the enzymes in five of the Japanese samples, but none in those from the

North Americans.

 

Scientists theorize that the gut bacteria acquired the genetic

instructions to make the enzymes when DNA was transferred to them from

bacteria living on the nori seaweed that the Japanese were wrapping

around their sushi.

 

Just how long ago the genetic transfer occurred is unclear, said Justin

L. Sonnenburg, a Stanford University microbiologist who was not

involved in the study. It's also unclear how the genetically altered

bacteria survive from one generation of guts to the next.

 

"This is something we don't really know; we don't understand how it

happens that well," he said.

 

Czjzek said it is quite possible that there are also North Americans

not of Japanese ancestry with the ability to digest nori.

 

But sushi is a relatively recent introduction to North American

cuisine, so it's unlikely that contemporary sushi eaters' gut flora

would have been exposed to enough marine bacteria to pick up the

genetic trait, said Sonnenburg, who wrote a commentary in Nature

accompanying the study.

 

"I think this likely happened back when diets were much less sterile,

and the seaweed was teeming with marine microbes," he said. "And I

think probably the nori wrappers we find on sushi wraps in the States

probably have a lot less microbial burden today."

The human gut holds microbes containing millions of genes, say

scientists.

 

In fact, there are more genes in the flora in the intestinal system

than the rest of our bodies. So many that they are being dubbed our

“second genomeâ€.

 

A study published in the journal Nature details the analysis of the

genes, carried out to better understand how the gut flora is affected

by disease.

 

“Basically, we are a walking bacterial colony,†said Professor Jeroen

Raes, one of the researchers involved.

 

“There is a huge diversity. We have about 100 times more microbial

genes than human genes in the body. We also have 10 times more

bacterial cells in our body than human cells,†he told BBC News. Most

of the microbes present in our bodies live in the gut.

 

Professor Raes, who works at Vrike Universiteit Brussel, explained why

the microbes warranted such an intensive study: “Gut flora is crucial

for our health. We’re basically living in symbiosis with these microbes.

 

“The bacteria help digest food, provide vitamins, protect us from

invading pathogens. If there’s a disturbance, people get all sorts of

diseases such as Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative colitis, and a link has

also been made to obesity.â€

 

Untangling a mess

 

The researchers have developed what is called a metagenome, a combined

genome of all the bacteria sequenced at once.

 

By mapping the genes, the scientists have found a way around the

problem of having to culture bacteria in order to study them.

 

Many bacteria are very difficult to grow in cultures in the lab. From

looking at the genes, the researchers hope to be able to investigate

how the flora changes when a person has a disease.

 

“It will allow us to understand diseases better,†said Professor Raes.

“We know there is a microbial component but we don’t know exactly how

[it works]. We will use it for prognostic and diagnostic markers so we

can predict disease severity or sensitivity to these diseases.â€

 

Dr Dusko Ehrlich said the work was showing promising results: “We have

extremely interesting findings based on the results of this gene

catalogue. We already have very exciting results in terms of

differences between healthy and sick people.â€

My friend 'SW' forwarded the

following personal encounter:

 

Friday, April 2, 2010- We were on our way to Abilene, from our home in

Breckenridge. At approx. 7:30 a.m., it was just before we reached the

bridge over Hubbard Lake on 180, west bound.

 

My spouse was driving and I was just looking around, when my eyes

locked onto the road ahead of us. We were coming upon a small rise in

the road, visibility very clear. Suddenly I see something run across

the road from left to right (South to North), right on top of the crest

of the rise. It was like seeing small feet and partial legs in a fast

trot across the road. It was almost like something mirroring the road

surface, but visible above the road by about 10 inches or so.

 

It reminded me of the Predator

in the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. I could not see above the calf area

of the legs, except the rippled, distorted sky behind the object, about

the size of a body.

 

As we passed that area, I looked to my right into the bar-ditch area

and there was nothing there, no animal, nothing. I couldn't see

anything on the side of the road, or near the trees but I had the

feeling that something watched us go by.

 

I remember telling my spouse immediately when I saw this thing cross

the road, "Oh wow! Did you see that thing cross the road?" He hadn't

noticed but I described to him what I saw. For the rest of the trip I

kept watching to see if maybe it was just my eyes playing tricks on me

but I never saw anything like that again, during the trip.

 

What was it I saw? Was it a cloaked entity, a trick of light, or

possibly heat waves off the pavement? I ruled out the later, as the

evening before was quite cool and the morning sun had not yet warmed up

the air, or pavement enough to cause that effect.

 

I don't believe it could have been miniature dust devils, as whatever

it was, it was moving across a light southeast breeze. As for a trick

of the light, the sun was directly behind us and barely above the

eastern horizon. The only thing I have to go on, is the fact that I

felt a presence as it crossed in front of us and then as we passed

where it crossed. It still gives me chills.
