Guest guest
I used to think, rather naively, that the issue with Pharmaceutical Companies buying off politicians was just an American problem.I read lots of stories of how Big Fama was infiltrating the political arena, and was basically running the FDA. such as:Is the FDA too cozy with the industry it regulates? Critics of the 1992 Prescription Drug User Fee Act argue that industry funding of the drug review and approval process gives pharmaceutical companies, and their lobbying arm, PhRMA, too much influenceThe propaganda issued by Drug Companies, about their products being ‘life savers’ is everywhere you look.Again naively I thought the Medical Profession was about HEALTH CARE & saving lives – I do know from personal experience the Emergency Room is a life saver in most cases, but these days, when you visit your GP it is a very different scenario. Seems they need to know how to use a computer programme, more than how to do examinations. http://just-me-in-t-health.blogspot.com/2010/04/are-politicians-government-employees-or.html I am using the Free version of SPAMfighter. We are a community of 7 million users fighting spam.SPAMfighter has removed 13 of my spam emails to date. The Professional version does not have this message. Guest guest
The FDA is not corrupted by the pharma. The pharma just owns them. There was a letter and documents sent from an employee of the FDA to the president and members of congress. It showed were even though evidence showed against something and need further research it was still approved for some reason. Congress has started legistration to correct the problem but has been stalled in commity. If it will ever make it to the floor it will be voted in. One such bill is the Medical device libility act. Which allows people who have had damages and the families of people who have died as a result of the product.--- On Fri, 4/9/10, justmeint <justmeint wrote: justmeint <justmeint Are Politicians Government Employee's or Pharmaceutical Company Employee's? Guest guest
Politicians are the 'government' but they are supposed to be peoples' servants at least in a democracy. But in todays world which is governed by execssive consummerism one doesn't mind doing anything for money. Who ever pays more can own them. If all the lawyers get together may be they can put pressure and have the act passed. as they are the ones who use and interpret law. and also fight it. bill morris <billybob5898 Sent: Sat, 10 April, 2010 7:31:57 PMRe: Are Politicians Government Employee's or Pharmaceutical Company Employee's?
