Disastrous Health Care Plan

According

to Congressional accounts, about 46 million, or 15 percent, of Americans are

uninsured.

But

Congressman Mike Rogers (MI) points out some very disturbing tradeoffs in the

current health care reform proposal, and I have yet to see any real debate

about the real problems, and the most effective solutions, to our current

health care conundrum.

Rogers begins by stating:

“Abraham Lincoln said, ‘You can’t make a weak man

strong by making a strong man weak…

… We’re going to punish the 85 percent of Americans who have

earned health care benefits as part of their employment; we’re going to

punish them, and the employers who give it to them, to try to cover the 15

percent that don’t have it.

Why would we punish the part that’s working to cover the part

that’s not?”

Personally, I don’t think the current health insurance

and health care models are working at all, but I agree that the reforms currently on the table will not solve our

problems.

For example, where is the debate about WHY the US

health care system is the absolute most expensive in the world?

This is a major issue, but instead of looking at this problem, all they’re

trying to do is figure out who should pay for these extraordinary expenses.

Where is the debate about limiting unnecessary, ineffective

treatments and stopping fraud to reduce soaring health care costs?

Why is no one talking about the fact that there are

effective, inexpensive alternatives that could easily be incorporated into

conventional medical practices that would significantly reduce costs?

The fact of the matter is that the Big Pharma Cartel has a supreme hold over our

government, and this is, most likely, why we do not see any discussions

about these very real, underlying problems.

I’ll

discuss this more in just a moment, but first, let’s look at what else

Congressman Rogers brings up in this short video.

Will Government-Run Health Care Run Amok?

Many

are leery of a government-run health care system, and for good reasons. Over

the past several years, government over-reach has become the norm rather than

the exception, and as a result personal freedoms are being threatened on a

number of fronts.

So, would a government-run health care system truly be

working for the average citizen, or would it simply become another avenue to

make Big Pharma rich, and give government more power over each individual life?

As

Congressman Rogers points out, there is language that gives the federal

government unprecedented

power to meddle in your personal health care affairs.

Rogers brings up these specific examples:

According to section 141 under the Health

Choices Commissioner Act, the government would be able to actually go in

and disenroll individuals. The fact that they can kick you out of your own

individual health care plan gives unprecedented power by the federal

government.

It also grants government the power to disenroll

your entire company from your chosen plan, if you are an employer with

$250,000 gross payroll.

“This is a travesty. We can, and must, do better,” says Rogers.

I

couldn’t agree more, but I think most discussions still miss the mark

entirely.

It

seems health care as a cash cow is simply too deeply entrenched in the

consciousness of the industry and their paid lackeys to be able to provide what

people want, which includes:

Healthier and more inexpensive

options

The freedom to choose

Alternatives to dangerous

prescription drugs and unnecessary surgeries

Drug Companies -- Big Business, Big Disaster

One of the problems in our current system is the lack of

competition between conventional and natural medicine. Excessive government interventions

are partly to blame for this, because true competition will only occur once

natural medicine is embraced and fully allowed to BE an officially viable

option to conventional treatments.

As it

stands now, media coverage over the past couple of years has shown you just how

dire your legal situation can get if you dare refuse conventional medical treatment and opt for

other less dangerous alternatives.

A

most recent example of the strangle-hold drug companies and government has over

your health care options is the fact that the FDA created a special task force

to investigate and shut down any alternative practitioner or company offering

any product that claims to ameliorate or prevent the swine flu. They

even issued Dr. Andrew Weil a warning last month.

I

don’t need to tell you there’s a propaganda war going on to get as

many as possible to accept the novel swine flu vaccine, and it’s quite

clear that competition or alternatives are not accepted.

Other

articles published by conventional media this year sent a strong message that

an organized campaign was underway to undermine the validity

and effectiveness of alternative medicine in the mind of the public.

Doctors,

too, are intimidated beyond reason to fall in line with

pharmaceutical cartels’ agenda.

It’s

important to realize that the drug companies are at the very core of this mess,

and so far no one is addressing the underlying paradigm that is the crux of our

current health care problem.

Why are U.S. Health Care Costs so High?

If

you didn’t already know this, American medical care is the most expensive in the world.

The U.S.

spends more than twice as much on each person for health care as most other

industrialized countries. And yet it has fallen to last place among those

countries in preventing avoidable deaths through use of timely and effective medical

care.

That

the system is fatally flawed and in need of a radical overhaul is self-evident.

According

to a 2008 report published in the New England Journal of Medicine,

90 percent of Americans believe our medical system should be “completely

rebuilt” or that “fundamental changes” are required.

An article on the WIP.net web site, published earlier

this year, points out numerous reasons why health care costs have run amok.

One

major problem that is inflating costs is the staggering number of medically

unwarranted surgeries being performed each year, such as unnecessary cesarean

sections and hysterectomies.

The

rate of hysterectomies alone is staggering. According to the U.S. Centers for

Disease Control

and Prevention (CDC), more than one-third of American women have had their

female organs removed by the age of 60.

By

the age of 65, HALF of all women have had a hysterectomy!

But

that’s not the most shocking part of the statistics. In her WIP article, Nora Coffey states:

“Findings from more than 850,000 counseling sessions at the HERS

Foundation in Philadelphia puts the percentage of hysterectomies that could

be avoided with conservative treatment (or no treatment at all) at about 98 percent.”

More

than $17 billion a year is spent on direct doctor and hospital charges for

hysterectomies – most of which are completely unnecessary!

Why

is no one talking about that, instead of trying to figure out how to keep paying

for these unnecessary treatments? Addressing the systematic, routine removal of

women’s uterus’ could reduce overall health care costs by $17

billion, which is no chump change!

We MUST Root Out the Driving Force Behind

Skyrocketing Costs and Falling Health Statistics

The truth is that the terrible health statistics of the U.S.

are primarily caused by the drug cartel and the food industry.

Unfortunately,

none of it is accidental, which is why politicians, or a government-run health

care program, will likely never fix it.

The drug industry has been able to manipulate and

control the U.S. Congress to pass just about any and every law they need to

increase their profits. Once you understand how they control the government,

you realize how they are diverting hundreds of billions of dollars for their hyperinflated drug prices. This money goes into

their own pockets and has nothing to do with making you healthier.

There

is NO PILL that can make you healthier! They can only mask symptoms, and more

often than not cause

additional health problems.

This

is at the ROOT of our out-of-control health care spending and falling health

statistics.

It

is this diversion of

funding that is the primary reason why American health

is so poor, and why Americans are struggling and the number one reason for

bankruptcy in the US

are unexpected health bills

Just

imagine where we’d be if these funds were spent wisely and not used for

products that are ineffective.

So,

will a government-sponsored health plan reduce the number of unnecessary

prescriptions? Will there be fewer unwarranted surgeries? Will it reduce costs

by focusing on prevention, and offering less dangerous and more inexpensive

alternatives?

I

believe the answer is no.

The

focus is still on conventional medicine; attempting to divvy up the costs to

continue paying for conventional therapies and treatment protocols.

Do Americans Understand What Health Care is?

In light

of these facts, whether a public health care plan is a good idea or not is

almost beside the point, because what we REALLY need is a radical change in

consciousness about what health,

and health care,

really is.

As long

as the focus of our health care is on drugs and surgical interventions, we will

continue down a path that leads to poor health and premature death.

Unfortunately,

that’s exactly what I see happening with this reform. It is being staged

as a “solution to give health care to all,” when in fact it may end

up forcing all Americans to carry, and pay for, conventional allopathic health

insurance, whether you want it or not – and not allow for the use of

alternatives.

This

could spell disaster for the field of alternative medicine, as it would limit

people’s ability to pay for it even further.

This

setup makes universal health care coverage part of the problem, not part of the

solution.

I

believe health insurance should be for major emergencies only. It simply

doesn’t need to be the

primary solution for every problem.

We’ve

already seen that this leads to nothing but financial catastrophe. And nearly

every available index shows that the current multitrillion dollar investment in

disease-care is a miserable failure.

Isn’t

it time to realize that some of the best ways to improve your

health are very inexpensive? Some are even free. And leave major medical

insurance for actual emergencies…

Again, Congress is voting on the health care bill today, so time is of the

essence. I urge you to get involved and contact your Congressman TODAY! If

you're unsure of who your Congressman is, you can find out at this link.
