I do not think Marijuana is going to kill anyone

`I think I might have been the one who said, the economy is depending on Marijuana staying illegal. To be more specific what I do mean is, as long as it is illegal the price will stay high. I would imagine that Oxy contin is by far more addicting than Marijuana. I would bet that Marijuana is not as bad for the body as the chemical feast that is made for us in a prescription. I am also the kind of person if the MD says to take 1 pill in the am and one Pm, I go home and cut it in half. 1/2 in the am and the same in the pm. I have found out some remarkable things about medicine. One I was given for Blood pressure I was to take I think 1 25 mg in the am and 1 in the pm. I cut it in half, and now have cut it in 1/4 and do not take it every day at all. I do not want to take medicine anyway, and the way I look at it, If I had ever took that much atenolol I might be dead. I have to stay alive for the animals. No not ready to go yet. Mariuana, in my opinion, is the " death drug. " Meaning, it encircles

and covers every cell in the body, interfering with the cells ability

to receive " light. " Thus, this causes the cells to die, thus the death

drug.

Washington, DC:  Police arrested an estimated 723,627 persons for marijuana violations in 2001, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation's annual Uniform Crime Report, released today. The total is the second highest ever recorded by the FBI, and comprises nearly half of all drug arrests in the United States.

" These numbers belie the myth that police do not target and arrest minor marijuana offenders, " said Keith Stroup, Executive Director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML).  " In fact, the war on drugs is largely a war on pot smokers.  This effort is a tremendous waste of criminal justice resources that should be dedicated toward combating serious and violent crime, including the war on terrorism. Of those charged with marijuana violations, 88.6 percent - some 641,108 Americans - were charged with possession only. The remaining 82,518 individuals were charged with " sale/manufacture, " a category that includes all cultivation offenses - even those where the marijuana was being grown for personal or medical use.

The total number of marijuana arrests far exceeds the total number of arrests for all violent crimes combined, including murder, manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery and aggravated assault.

Since 1992, approximately six million Americans have been arrested on marijuana charges, a greater number than the entire populations of Alaska, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont and Wyoming combined.  Annual marijuana arrests have more than doubled in that time.
