Lt. Cmdr. Christine Sidenstricker says the cases were reported in June at the Bagram Air Base, the main U.S. base north of Kabul, and that all have recovered. Sidenstricker could not say whether the cases were among the 14,000 military personnel living and working at the base or among the 5,000 civilians there. The UN World Health Organization reported that as of Monday more than 94,000 had contracted the disease, with 429 deaths worldwide.
