Guest guest
Hi, for all of you who have read about my super shy male pom Peanut I am going to give a small update. For the raw feeders please do not respond about what is being fed incorrectly. I make my own dog biscuits so I know what is in therm. I bake them for about 12 minutes at 350 then dehydrate them at 250 for about an hour. When they are done, they are so hard you have to use a hammer if you want to breaka smaller piece off. That being said Peanut does not chew on anything that hard but today I broke off some small pieces about half the size of the dime and he ate almost a whole biscuit. woo hoo maybe in time he will chew on a bone. For those of you who have not read about his mange, I am doing the borax - hydrogen peroxide water bath but not just twice a week that was getting me no where I am doing him every other day. He is no longer hiding where it is dark but is out with us so lets hope things are going in the right direction. His appetite has improved and he is drinking more. I have used natural yogurt to aid in his digestion. It is helping, we are not having such bad breath. I don't know how much longer he will be here with us but he is a much healthier dog than when I brought him here 3 years ago. For all the new shy dog owners, don't give up, Peanut has been here 3 years and is still shy about some things. My youngest son came for a visit today he brought along a friend that neither of my dogs has ever met and Peanut of all things went to this man and wanted to be petted. So new shy dog owners have heart persevere there is hope. Edith
