I have been doing the hydrogen peroxide and borax for 2 weeks could someone tell me when I should be seeing difference? The mites are just as busy as ever they are still crawling on me. I made up a solution of 35% food gradehdyrogen peroxide which is much stronger than the stuff you buy in the store. I used 4 tablespoons of borax and 1 teaspoon of the hydrogen peroxide plus 4 cups of water so I could saturate his body. I have done that twice a week as suggested but it does not seem to be doing anything it looks as though more hair is being lost. Am I hoping for something too quickly? Edith

Dear Edith,

Are you saying you put 35% H2O2 on your dog?

Please say you didn't. 35% H2O2 is highly caustic and burns skin on contact.

I would think after 2 weeks you ought to be seeing at least some improvement.

My sense is that if the parasites are not budging, it's because the dog is

compromised somehow, most likely from malnourishment and/or vaccine damage.

Have you tried feeding him some small bits of smashed RMBs wrapped in something

yummy? How about some crushed eggshells? If he's not consuming any sources of

calcium whatsoever in his diet, it may be that no matter what you do topically

for his mange, he won't get well unless and until he starts getting the minerals

his body requires so his immune system can muster the energy needed to fight off

this infestation.

Hi Elan, Yes I used the 35% hydrogen peroxide but if you read what I have typed you would have seen that I mixed it with 4 cups of water. It does not burn then. I put my hand into the solution and it makes it feel nice and clean. it is not toxic as you have suggested, I have put it directly on my skin and yes it tingles and turns it white but it does not burn it. I have used 35% H202 for many years, I even put it in with my drinking water and detoxified my system. If it turns your finger that white from a little tiny miniscule drop of h202 it should surely cleanse your system and get rid of all the unwanted junk in your system. Many years ago I was told by my doctor ( he is no longer my doctor) that I was not going to live to see 40 and by the time I was 30 I would be on oxygen for how ever long I lived. I used 1 drop of H202 in an 8 ounce glass of water, 3 times a day and every few days I would increase it by one drop 3 times a day. By the time 6 months rolled around I was no longer on my allergy shots twice a week. I don't understand where people get the notion that this is caustic. it is food grade meant to be taken internally or used externally. Elan I hope I am not coming across as sounding like I am coming down on you. That is not what I am doing. When I type something it can sound one way to me but the reader can take it another. I am only telling you how well this worked for me and that I am still alive because of my using it. I appreciate your input and I am going to try the egg shell bit. With everything on my mind that was not retained. Edith

Pure 35% H2O2 burns. I just wanted to make sure you didn't put straight 35% on

your dog which could have damaged his skin, that's all. Some people don't know

about 35% H2O2 and how it should be used, but you've obviously had enough

experience with it to know how to dilute it properly. I'm glad it's helped you

with your health issues and am sorry for the misunderstanding.

Great, maybe you also can try giving Peanut some small morsels of well smashed

RMB wrapped in something you know he likes now and again too, just to see if you

can't slowly start to sneak some raw bone into him.

Here's a link to a website with some guidelines on how much powdered eggshell to

feed. It's doesn't take much to supply good levels of calcium and other

minerals, so it's important not to overdo it...
