how do you know when your getting the calicum and not the sodium type of

bentonite clay? I was told by one of the people on this thread that calcium

bentonite is the clay to purchase, and that the sodium is not good. I purchased

the sonny 7 clay and contacted the company because I was told it was the sodium

kind of clay- they assured me that the amount of aluminum in the clay would not

leach out due to the amount in the clay and the clay's absorbing qualities. I

never knew there were different kinds of this clay- I am not trying to de bunk

what the person who has given me help so far has said about the clay- I just

want more input from others who have used bentonite clay. Any advice for a

novice?

The company you purchase any clay from should be able to tell you what kind of

clay it is and also give you a chemical analysis of their product.

This is misinformation. Both calcium and sodium bentonites have their uses, and

each of these clays can have many beneficial healing properties, as long as they

come from pure sources and are uncontaminated and minimally processed.

Do you mean Sonne's #7?

If so, you've purchased an inferior clay product. Sonne's is highly processed

as well as being pre-hydrated, and chances are it has been irradiated and/or

otherwise sterilized which destroys much of any clay's original healing

properties.

Yes, there are many different kinds of clay that can be used both internally and

externally, and if utilized properly, can be very effective for healing and

cleansing on a number of different levels.

The best clays to purchase are pure, powdered clays from reputable sources.

Once you have the powder and store it correctly, it will last indefinitely,

because chances are it's already millions of years old! Then you can hydrate

small amounts of clay with the purest water you can find as you need it for

various purposes.

Hydrated clay or clay water can be taken internally for detoxification.

Hydrated clay can also used externally for wound healing or in packs or

poultices for improving circulation and drawing out toxins or infections. Clay

powder can also be sprinkled into baths for soaking, which is very helpful again

for detoxification and drawing poisons, heavy metals and other pathogens out of

the body.
