Energy is energy, at the moment, energy cannot be claimed to belong to anyone other than the universe. Whenever anything like this is discouraged I always note that it is usually something very successful and very effective. Eventually I guess even bishops will realise that all is ONE.

Bishop's statement on Reiki

On March 25, 2009, U.S. Catholic bishops issued a statement advising Catholic hospitals, health care facilities, and Catholic chaplains not to support the use of Reiki sessions. The statement was issued by The Committee on Doctrine, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and titled: "Guidelines for Evaluating Reiki as Alternative Therapy."The statement was based on research the committee had done over a period of several months involving information found on the Internet and in Reiki books. Based on these sources, they concluded that Reiki came from Buddhist texts and has a religious basis; that Reiki healing energy is directed by human thought and will; that Reiki is not validated by scientific studies and has no scientific explanation, and that Reiki is not accepted by the medical community. The practice of Reiki, the bishops’ said, "finds no support either in the findings of natural science or in Christian belief." "A Catholic who puts his or her trust in Reiki would be operating in the realm of superstition," the bishops said.

I am a Catholic. Much of what the Catholic Church does is based on superstition and beliefs and not on the fundamentals of the church. No one in the Catholic church is bound by what these Bishops conclude.

These same Bishops condone the presence of Cardinal Law, the child molester, in their church whereas he should have been defrocked and, maybe, put to death or imprisoned for life. When these Bishops clean up their house maybe we will start listening to them again. Maybe, when they can use their hands to heal, as Christ did, we will respect them again. Hmmmm, maybe Christ was a Reiki master.--- On Tue, 5/19/09, Jane MacRoss <highfield1 wrote:

Sai Ram. Yes, I read their statement against Reiki but since I a not a Christian by religion (though I respect Jesus Christ and all other Masters), I did not comment. Hinduism does not have any such injunctions since it is too diverse to mind one more addition. And yes, Reiki is spiritual and I found it works. That is good enough for me.I am a Reiki Master and offer my healing freely to any one including those Bishops!SwamyHyderabad, India--- On Mon, 6/29/09, dgw7777777 <dgwest7 wrote:dgw7777777 <dgwest7 Re: Bishop's statement against ReikiTo:

I'll put this in the same file- #13- as I do any medical advice from my own

Pastor, who always makes sure that his youngest daughter takes all her

anti-depressants instead of making her get off her a$$ and work. We've never

done any Reiki here but I have just asked for some advice in the realm on

another group. I was always a rebel, from a young age figured that no one

has God in a box and truth is where you find it. Judging from what I seen of

others of my own faith when it comes to their health, my way has served me

much better.

Dang, I climbed up on this soapbox and now I can't figure out how to get

down.
