Guest guest
I have been lurking on this group for months. I am a nurse that really enjoys holistic health. I do yoga & run 3-5 miles everyday. I lost weight with a soy based diet but after reading posts on this group, I am scared to death of soy LOL I have been eating raw. I even do the fruit only from 8-12 in the morning & then salads for lunch & dinner & other raw foods. You would think I was a skinny person but I am not. I have had my thyroid tested but always normal. I have classic symptoms of hypothroidism, intolerant to cold, low pulse, fatigue, sluggish, depression, irratiblity, muscle cramps, dry hair, hard time with weight. I think I have actually gain weight on my raw diet (grrrrr) I am open to suggestion on what I should eat, take or do to help improve my thyroid function. Thanks so much for you help ! Guest guest
Hello there! I am a " lurker " too & I enjoy holistic health too, and I just read an article from a site that I found from the info I have learned here (and I may try it myself). It is from Dr. Mercola, and from everything I have read (and I do a lot of research before I try anything!), he seems like he knows what he is talking about. And it has to do with nutritional typing and what foods will work best for YOU: http://products.mercola.com/nutritional-typing/ It makes sense to me and it may be worth a shot. Good luck! Guest guest
It sounds like you need to find another doctor. Good doctors consider your symptoms as well as the test results. They need to be testing for free t3 and free T4 as well as TSH. Getting your adrenals tested is also a good idea as low adrenal function has similar symptoms and the thyroid and adrenal glands are so interconnected. That means 24 hour cortisol test and DHEA levels. Susan Siegel On May 13, 2009, at 4:14 PM, homernccm wrote: > I have been lurking on this group for months.
