Contacting President Obama April 2009 Newsletter We would like to welcome the newest member of the MRF Board of Directors, Louise Mandrell. We are excited about her interest in the goals of the Morgellons Research Foundation and her understanding of the suffering of those affected by this life changing disease. Thanks to a hard working volunteer, the look of the MRF website is in the process of being updated. Please check back next week for the new look. We would like to ask you to please take the time to contact President Obama about Morgellons disease, so that we can be assured that the progress of Morgellons disease research by the federal government will move forward as rapidly as possible, with oversight from the president. It is through past political efforts like these that Morgellons disease has received attention from the federal government. Information about contacting president Obama can be seen below. Thank you for your continued help in getting Morgellons disease recognized and investigated. Thank you also for your continued strength. We wish you a joyous holiday and a wonderful spring.Best wishes,William T. Harvey, M.D., M.P.H., M.S., ChairmanMary M. The Morgellons Research Foundation (MRF) which represents 13,500 ill families, has asked for government help in researching this disease, which is likely infectious, since 2003. Please note that the MRF has learned that you sent at least 2 letters to the CDC asking CDC to expedite the Morgellons disease investigation on behalf of your constituents, when you were a U.S. Senator for Illinois The history of CDC efforts, including list of 40 members of congress who contacted CDC re Morgellons, can be seen here:http://morgellons.org/cdc.htm I would like to ask you to please do the following:1. Please allocate additional funds for the rapid investigation of Morgellons disease.2. Please immediately contact CDC to ask details of the current status of the CDC Morgellons investigation, also known by CDC as "Unexplained Dermopathy", and update me as soon as possible. Best wishes,Your nameMorgellons Research Foundation Website
