Guest guest
Hmmmm---causes of war... Lets start here WW I--not quite about patriotism and mom and apple pie... movie made in 1935 http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-8562493278519566041 & q=dealers+in+death & total=169 & start=0 & num=10 & so=0 & type=search & plindex=0--- On Sat, 4/18/09, Tony De Angelis <tntstuart wrote: Tony De Angelis <tntstuartRe: OFF TOPIC - Mowing the grass Date: Saturday, April 18, 2009, 6:31 PM Only the mentally deranged love war and killing but if someone points a gun at me I want to shoot first and ask questions later. Not all wars are unjust. If we didn't go to war against the Germans and Japan, none of us would be here now. Pacifism is just another religion, a rather ignorant one --- On Sat, 4/18/09, Jane MacRoss <highfield1 wrote: Jane MacRoss <highfield1Re: OFF TOPIC - Mowing the grass Date: Saturday, April 18, 2009, 9:15 PM It is so sad people fight, so sad they don't have the courage to say NO I wont Fight. If everyone said NO I wont Fight there wouldn't be any war, but it does take a heap of courage to do that, I had a bf once, he was in the Australian Army, when Vietnam ended he wept because he couldn't go back and fight a bit more. How sad that people love war, and killing and violence. I wondered if we are being prepared for this more and more when I turned on the TV last evening for the first time for ages, all dark violent stuff, nothing beautiful, nothing peaceful. How can people contain all this terrible stuff! Thank God for the choices we have here on the net, where if we wish we can find beauty and peaceful things to enjoy! These kids are being sacrificed for reasons much other than what they and we are being told.... Be much better if was back in Oz experiencing the grass first hand... My thoughts...--- On Sat, 4/18/09, Clare@GOOGLE MAIL <theclaremcharris wrote: Clare@GOOGLE MAIL <theclaremcharris OFF TOPIC - Mowing the grass Date: Saturday, April 18, 2009, 4:10 PM AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE...... OI OI OI!!!!! Mowing the grass I hope the picture will go through for you - of this Australian Digger in Afghanistan with his tiny "plot" of grass in front of his tent. It's heartwarming! Here is a soldier stationed in Afghanistan; posted to a big sand box. He asked his wife to send him dirt (Australian soil), fertilizer, and some grass seed so that he can smell the grass, and feel it grow beneath his feet. When the men of the squadron have a mission that they are going on, they take turns walking through the grass in Australian soil - to bring them good luck. If you notice, he is even cutting the grass with a pair of a scissors. Sometimes we are in such a hurry that we don't stop and think about the little things that we take for granted. Upon receiving this, please say a prayer for our Australian soldiers that give and give (and give up) so unselfishly for us.
