Guest guest
Good Morning ..... the following is in my 'in-box' today. As it is relevant I am passing it along FYI and consideration. Cheer's from Clare in Tassie Review finds no evidence that saturated fat causes heart diseaseThe idea that saturated fat causes heart disease is perhaps one of the most firmly entrenched concepts in the minds of medical professionals and many people. But is this concept supported by the science? In perhaps the most comprehensive review of the scientific literature in the area to date, researchers assessed the evidence linking a whole host of nutritional factors and heart disease. They found no evidence that saturated fat causes heart disease. They did, however, find evidence that a diet rich in blood sugar disruptive carbohydrate may actually precipitate the disease. Click this link for more information on the science that shows that eating a low fat, high carb diet is likely bad for the heart. Can diabetes be cured? I read a commentary in this week's Journal of the American Medical Association which posed the question 'can diabetes be cured?' The author of this article took the reader through a range of surgical and high-tech options for potential cures for the condition. However, in my blog on Wednesday, I put forward the idea that many cases of diabetes can be cured using a low-tech approach: the low-carb diet. For more on this, click this link.
