Guest guest
As there are quite a few new members, I thought it possibly beneficial to repost some previous information. These links are valuable and worth following: Clare in Tasmania Management Of Statin Damage Given the following array of side effects....Statins Inhibit Important Biochemical Pathway - Cause Predictable 'Side Effects' Statins & Lowering Cholesterol A Double Whammy For CHFStatins and Vitamin D Deficiency - Another BlowMuscle Side Effects Of StatinsStatins May Cause Nerve DamageStatins And Our Immune SystemSTATIN DRUGS Side EffectsStatin Drugs & Breast CancerStatin Drugs & Memory LossStatins and Parkinson's Dr. Graveline has provided an excellent start for those looking to reverse damage from these essentially useless drugs. Sadly, any efforts to curb damage from statins, by vested interests, is not like to be taken too seriously as this will implicate them, but now that the patents are winding down and the bucks have been raked in, maybe we will see some half hearted efforts in this direction especially if the damage can be managed rather than cured.... A complementary protocol* to prevent heart disease is also contained in Dr. Levy's book: Stop America's # 1 Killer!...Heart Disease, this may also be adapted per the following to reduce statin damage. *Chapter 29 — Practical Suggestions for Stopping/Reversing Atherosclerosis Protocol for the Prevention and Reversal of Atherosclerosis Chris Gupta ----------------------------- Management Of Statin DamageDuane Graveline MD MPH Directing our attention to those already presenting with statin associated damage of whatever kind, I recommend stopping the statin and robust CoQ10 supplementation. CoQ10 has no maximum allowable dose, so progressive dosage elevations to 1500mg daily may be reasonable for a period of time to observe for response. The addition of Acetyl-L-carnitine and selenium must be considered for persistent muscle pain and weakness. These recommendations are based upon known mechanisms of action of statin drugs and results of recent research. A possible means to compensate for dolichol inhibition has recently been identified. Study of the effect of statins on dolichols and the process of glycosylation has revealed the possibility that glyconutrient supplementation may help restore normal operation of damaged glycolytic pathways. Studies designed to evaluate possible benefits of this are just getting under way. Once validated, glyconutrient supplementation may become an effective treatment for statin damage unresponsive to other measures. No other specific therapies are in sight at this time.
