Guest guest
Can you please tell me how much turmeric to use in making a tincture? I have quite a bit of powder but find it is too bitter to take as is so would like to make a tincture maybe along with a few other anti inflammatory herbs. Anyone know how much to use per how much alcohol? Thanks! Bea

Guest guest
With the cost of capsules around here--plus the work---I may as well just buy the curcumin- capsules--but if I make tincture I can combine a number of ingredients easily. Guest guest
I bought some turmeric tincture a while back no idea how its made tho! To make it from the powder I guess you would saturate a suitable alcohol with however much it would take of the powder? + whatever else you wanted to add? Guest guest
I don't believe you can get the quantity needed in a tincture. I have a great degree of success with caps but none of my clients have reported success with tinctures. Feedback on this will be appreciated. Guest guest
Dear Jane and All Most of the people, though they may not be having any disease are taking Turmeric, with 'Methi' seeds, as antioxidants asa also for Cholestral. Jane may like to comment, whether she has used this combination?. Similarly Ashwagandha(roots) powder is used as antioxidant, for which I wrote to you once. Guest guest
Hi, Bea". In answer to your question, I practice orthomolecular medicine with protocols based on computerized analysis of blood, saliva, urine, and hair. My license in Florida is as a clinical nutritionist/ Registered Dietitian but, since my original degree was in engineering, I list myself as a "Nutritioneer". I am currently writing a book that would be something like "Blood Test Analysis for Dummies". This would be a treatise for the layman on how to relate medical test results to treat nutritional deficiences.. I respect your opinion and would like to know if you think there is a market for this book. Thanks for your feedback. --- On Wed, 4/8/09, Bea Bernhausen <beabernhausen wrote: Bea Bernhausen <beabernhausenRe: turmeric tincture? Guest guest
I'm sure your book would be a great blessing for those who have had the tests---I haven't had a blood analysis yet--as they are still quite rare and expensive in this neck of the woods. I have had a hair analysis however but was quite a long time ago--thanks for reminding me I'll have to re-look at the results. I would say people would welcome an extensive analysis if they have had the tests. Sounds like an interesting career... Guest guest
In Florida a very complete blood and urine test (70 parameters included) costs about one hundred dollars - if you know how to ask for it, by-pass the doctor in doing it, and pay cash. This saves a lot of time and money. You can then take your test to a doctor for an evaluation if something is out of range. A nutritional analysis of the blood takes several hours of prep and consultation and costs about $200. My book would show how to do it yourself for nutritional factors but a mdedical doctor is still needed if you have medical necessities indicated. Thanks for you input--- On Wed, 4/8/09, Bea Bernhausen <beabernhausen wrote: Bea Bernhausen <beabernhausenRe: turmeric tincture?
