I just learned that a family member has to show proof of vaxanations and proof that they were given ontime to keep her cash aid. I no its against our constatution and was outraged. They told her she could NOT get it unless she updated all vaccinations. Can they really do this, or is there a way she can decline them and still receive WIC? WIC is a federal program and does not vary much from state to state. She says that they do not deny anyone because of their choice not to vaccinate. She said that they do ask for an up-to-date vaccination record, but if someone doesn't vaccinate then they do not deny them. She said she would be very surprised if this were true. She recommended contacting the state office in charge of WIC to get further clarification. You can refuse any medical treatment for you or your family. I heard, if you child gets vaccinated without you knowledge that you can sue for assault with a deadly weapon. I got harrased for opting out of the PKU after having both my kids at home. They treatened to call the health dept. Nothing came of it because they knew there was nothing they could do legally. Our daughter is almost 19 and its of course her choice but I feel I have to go my husbands afraid they will be like shots and they will do it and its to late as far as being in him. But I am so scared that they may call family services on us. We do not want it done but everytme he goes to Dr. they say something about him not having shots at birth. The Dr. kept us in her office for about a hour talking about them and no matter what I or my daughter said she said yeah at 2 months we will give him shots. We went to another Dr. and he was worse my daughter said he was out right mean and rude about it,. When I said about chemicals and about Mercury. Of course they said the diesase is much worse and mercury is out. I said well what did they replace with it. She the Dr. said its better. Yeah and when will they know its not as far as later. Why do they keep coming up with shots? Like they feel puiblic schools are okay too!!! No they are fallling short !!! What do you say to get them to shut up? Shoould we just not go to the visits unless hes sick???? If I told them to do things to there child they were against they would not!!! They are taught by books and do not listen to whats totally involved. Let see he is 7 weeks today. They have tried vitamin k, Hepatitis, liquid in eyes antibiotics, 2 different meds for eye infestion, zantex. I was asked at a appointment what meds is he allergic to (4 weeks). I only gave him one eye med after 2nd Dr. finally I did. It burnt his eye lids and caused a rash. He only 7 weeks!!!!!!!!!! My goodness when will they get it. But since my daughter is not married she is on medicaid and I can not take him just where ever!!!I was thinking if I took him to a regular not peditrricain maybe they would forget the shots as thats not what they do all the time??? What can I say or do?? Someone said say its against your religion and I thought yeah which religion is it?? They said well they are not aloud to ask. But how many Dr. are they going to keep seeing untiul they quit asking and harassing us about it!!! My girls also go to public schools, and neither school has given me a hard time. i know it's hard but don't give up or give in. But since my daughter is not married she is on medicaid and I can not take him just where ever!!!I was thinking if I took him to a regular not peditrricain maybe they would forget the shots as thats not what they do all the time??? I only gave him one eye med after 2nd Dr. finally I did. It burnt his eye lids and caused a rash. He only 7 weeks!!!!!!! !!! My goodness when will they get it. But since my daughter is not married she is on medicaid and I can not take him just where ever!!!I was thinking if I took him to a regular not peditrricain maybe they would forget the shots as thats not what they do all the time??? What can I say or do?? Someone said say its against your religion and I thought yeah which religion is it?? They said well they are not aloud to ask. There was a response to my original question about WIC..it was called "everything you wanted to know about vaccinations". In it is a link to the forms you need to opt out of vaccinations and still attend publlic school. If you can't find the post let me know.
