The novelist and writer Christopher Hudson's description of his

statin-induced dementia ( " Wonder drug that stole my memory " ), prompted 140

comments on the Telegraph website, confirming just how common such adverse

effects must be. Why, then, it is reasonable to ask, do family doctors

continue to prescribe these drugs with such abandon and without warning of

their potential hazards?
