Guest guest
Well, as an aromatherapist, I'd have to say that what was written on Quackwatch doesn't cover the WHOLE story. Some of the more nasty stuff was left out. It's not over the top. Young is scum. His oils are over priced (3x what a GOOD retailer will sell oils for), the claims the company makes for their oils are ludicrous, the oils themselves are in doubt as to purity. The company does not give out ANY information about their oils, where they come from, whether or not they are diluted or just plain adulterated. They lie and manipulate the weak minded just to make money... For more on this, check out http://www.aromaticsage.com There are several articles there you can check out and there is also: http://www.acemake.com/gta/ylfiles.html The major rebuttal from those in the YL Company is that those of us who try to point out these facts are just jealous because they make so much money. That's IT! That's the only rebuttal they have and it's a down right stupid thing to say. There is more I could say, but at this point, I'll let you do the reading for yourself and make up your own mind. Hope that helps. Oh, I'm not Butch but I'm quite confident that Butch will back up everything that I have said here and may even add some more. ;-) K On 2/14/06, rugosagirl <jewels wrote: > > I have been teaching some classes where we use essential oils in > product making and have had several people ask me about Young Living Oils. > I have never purchased any, but would love to get some feedback if > anyone on this list (esp Butch) has anything to say that will help me > be more informed for future questions. I have never purchased any, but would love to get some feedback if anyone on this list (esp Butch) has anything to say that will help me be more informed for future questions. I have never purchased any, but would love to get some feedback I was involved with YL for several years around 8 years ago. I went to several conventions, visited their farm and watched the distilling process, saw the plants growing, etc. That part I was really impressed with. I drive past the farm in Mona every time I visit my daughter who lives in southern Utah. However, the farms cannot possibly produce all the oils they sell. I purchased many of their oils and products. It was a learning experience. I believe their oils are for the most part good quality, but high priced. I really like some of the blends, but I even like my own blends better. I understand he has re-formulated blends to contain more of the " cheaper " oils. I think most problems were with the recommended uses of oils neat (as in Raindrop therapy) and some ethical concerns about oil blends being diluted and not labeled as such. Their diffusers are the best i have tried, however I don't do business with them anymore. Gary Young is a very charismatic person, but I have personal friends who have worked for him and then left, thoroughly disenchanted with ethics, etc. I went to high school with his wife Mary, but was not closely acquainted. She was a member of the snobbish clique and that was 40 years ago. I have written letters to Gary, asking questions, but have not been answered. I hope this information has been helpful. I know a few people who are hooked on > Young Living and swear by this stuff. Young Living, Ecoquest, NuSkin, Xango, everybody has a product that will change your life...especially for the person who's downline you are a member of. If the product was making me money, I would have to think it just my influence my judgement. In most cases, you look around and you will find the same if not better products at a much lower cost and you won't be tied into having to buy every month. As far as being hooked on YL...hard to see the truth when you are a part of the lie. Many good people are taken everyday. Guest guest
Carmen, From what little I've heard of the tapes, there is a lot of misinformation about the oils on them. There is a whole lot of really good sources. Why use YL propoganda when you can learn from many, many good _independent_ books and practitioners? Carmen, I would be very cautious about relying on the YL training tapes and information as your sole source of information about the oils. One of the major complaints most of us in the industry have against the MLM is their unsafe usage and their wildly unrealistic claims. Please do some independent study!!!! Guest guest
Hi, On using the YL tapes to " learn " may not be a good idea. If there are many inconsistancies/questions on his practices then I would not rely on his info on eo's. I personally have not read any of his " stuff " but the info that I have seen posted sounds scary to me. In fact, there is sooo much info in the files & archive of messages just on this group alone. Martin Watt & Butch Owen are such a wealth of information just to name a few. If there are any eo's, herb questions you have please post them to the list. Not anly will they be answered but it will benefit a lot of people on the list (like me) that can learn more & /or use it as a refresher/update.
