H5N1 MIXED WITH HUMAN FLU VAX- HUH?

H5N1 Mixed With Human Flu Vax - Huh?From Patricia Doyle, PhD2-28-9Hello Jeff - How does something like this happen? How in the world does H5N1 AVIAN virus get into human flu vaccine? This just boggles my mind. Is this some sort of test or, worse yet, is this a deliberate attempt to jump start a pandemic? For the life of me, I just cannot understand how this could happen. I haven't taken flu shots in a very very long time. Every year the thought of getting flu scares me and a thought to get a shot enters my mind, but then, I come to my senses. Half the time they don't even have the strain of flu in the shots that are circulating. Seems like every year the vaccine is mismatched. I just wonder what the investigations will turn up. If we get the truth? That too, is doubtful. I am sure Henry will have a comment on this. In March, we must ask him about this. Patty "Officials are trying to get to the bottom of how vaccine manufacturer Baxter International Inc. made "experimental virus material" based on a human flu strain but contaminated with the H5N1 avian flu virus and then distributed it to an Austrian company. That company, Avir Green Hills Biotechnology, then disseminated the supposed H3N2 virus product to subcontractors in the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Germany. Authorities in the 4 European countries are looking into the incident, and their efforts are being closely watched by the World Health Organization and the European Centre for Disease Control."
