Guest guest
Tansy! I love the smell, but boy does it like to get out of hand. It supposedly helps to keep ants out of the house, but the ants around here have not read the book that says so. I'd say, be fairly merciless or you will have nothing but Tansy. Guest guest
it is still used for intestinal worms by modern herbalists. apparently in the past it was also used for hysteria and other nervous conditions as well as kidney weakness and stomach irritation. It was also used externally for skin ailments and sprains. I've also read of a custom where people eat " Tansy Cakes " on Easter as a general tonic for the body after the lenten fasting. It is a little toxic, you're right about that but it seems to have been used safely in small doses. Basically, it's not of much practical use that we know of today : ) Blessings, Jenifer (Autumn) , " sewingstorms " <sewingstorms wrote: > > I know spring is just around the corner for some people but up here we > are still in lots of snow. Guest guest
I used to make pickled green pear tomatoes that contained tansy, among other things. They were just about nuclear, and folks loved ‘em.
