Another abomination in the making, even though I'd like to see the data about "The more the [uK] Government has invested in schemes to promote contraception among teenagers, the more young people have become sexually active and the higher rates of sexually-transmitted infection have risen."[Would it have anything to do with the "Kiddie Porn" industry, by the way?]By the way, from what I have heard and read over the years, this wonderful "coil" [iUD, Intra-Uterine Device] can have major "side" effects, including endometriosis, allergies to copper and nickel [heavy metals these IUDs are usually made of], chronic pelvic infections, permanent infertility, etc.=========http://snipurl.com/bu044 [Telegraph, UK]Doctors paid to give contraceptive injection to teenage girlsFamily doctors will be paid bonuses for persuading teenage girls to have contraceptive implants and injections. Last Updated: 7:59AM GMT 13 Feb 2009From 2010, GPs will receive the payments for encouraging their young female patients to use long-lasting methods rather than taking the pill every day. They will be advised to tell teenagers already on oral contraceptives that the coil or implant are better at preventing pregnancies.Ministers believe the move is necessary to help prevent unwanted teen pregnancies, as many young girls forget to take the pill. However, the plan, announced on Thursday by Health Secretary Alan Johnson and Schools Secretary Ed Balls, has been criticised by campaigners. They warned that the measures would lead to thousands of underage girls being given contraception without the knowledge of their parents.Jackie Fletcher, of anti-vaccine group Jabs, said: "Giving a doctor a monetary gain to promote a product is abhorrent."From next April, GPs will be paid for giving teenagers advice on sexual health, particularly on long-acting contraception. They will be given the money if they achieve three indicators. Each point is worth about £124 for the practice.First, they will get four points for producing a register of women prescribed contraception at least once in the last year.Another six points will be gained if 90 per cent of those who have taken oral contraceptives are given advice on long-acting contraceptive methods.General Medical Council guidance states that GPs can give contraceptive advice to underage girls without the consent of their parents. They are likely also to be able to give under-age girls the injections without consent from parents, as they can the Pill.Norman Wells, of the charity Family and Youth Concern, told the Daily Mail: "Parents of girls under 16 will be alarmed to think that doctors are going to be given financial incentives to provide their daughters with contraception behind their backs."It is tantamount to bribing doctors to facilitate underage sex. The more the Government has invested in schemes to promote contraception among teenagers, the more young people have become sexually active and the higher rates of sexually-transmitted infection have risen."
