Guest guest
Is there anyone out there who know how to make healthy Ice Cream? I heard there is a way using frozen bananas.
Guest guest
Not sure if I am doing the correct thing but I always have frozen bananas stored in freezer and when wanted, I put one or 2 through my Green Life Juicer which has a special attachment to make pastes and ice cream. It's pure fruit, nothing added but has the texture of ice cream. Guest guest
You might find that just protein is a better choice. Both nuts contain carbs. Whey protein isolate can also be purchased pure without anything added, and its carb content per 100 gr can then be almost nil. I'm happy to do that as there is usually a bowl of macadamia's or cashews on the bench top. Clare in Tassie The addition of the protein also decreases the glycemic index ot the whole thing. __._,_._ avast! Antivirus: Inbound message clean. Guest guest
Freezing any pasty-textured fruit and running it through a powerful blender with ice makes a healthy smoothie of any flavor you like. If you want it to taste more creamy without adding fat, you can add pure whey protein ISOLATE which usually contains a vanilla flavoring and 1 mg of fructose for every 20 grams of protein. The addition of the protein also decreases the glycemic index ot the whole thing. I consider this important if a large quantity of fruit is to be consumed at one sitting.--- On Tue, 2/10/09, Hanneke <blosshan wrote: Hanneke <blosshanRe: Ice Cream Date: Tuesday, February 10, 2009, 5:44 PM Not sure if I am doing the correct thing but I always have frozen bananas stored in freezer and when wanted, I put one or 2 through my Green Life Juicer which has a special attachment to make pastes and ice cream. Guest guest
Hi Hannake, would not the nuts be a 'healthy option' in as much as they contain 'good fats' as well as fibre etc? this is why I consumed them with the fruit. I do not have processed meats in the house, and I am a tad lazy with cooking a chicken breast or similar for my lunch. I do not get hungry really, but eat because I will be hungry late in the afternoon... 4ish, when dinner time is 6pm. Cheese (from cows) is out of the question, and a (doc says) 'healthy sandwhich' is NOT going to happen either. So a piece of fruit with a handful of nuts now and again seems a good balance imho. I am not low carbing per se..... Clare
