Guest guest
DMSO is the strongest ant-inflammatory out there. Also Tumeric and fish oil work very well. Protolytic enzymes eat up inflammation. Diet is key though to these things sticking. Guest guest
Hi, Clare, Susan and all!The best anti-inflammatory natural supplement I know and use rather freely is "Bio-Astin" [natural astaxanthin]. It's actually a concentrate of pro-vitamin A [beta carotene], and also a very powerful anti-oxydant.I have used it for a variety of inflammatory discomforts [spine and/or joints soreness, sore eyes, gingivitis], it's totally amazing. Since it's not expensive at all, I find it easily in the health food stores where I live for $13 a bottle [60 gel caps], and I don't think it has any contra-indications, it'd be worth your try, I think.Love to you!Viviane

Guest guest
This would be very safe for breastfeeding since even concentrated, pure vitamin A used to be given directly to breastfeeding infants in single bolus doses of two million IU. (they now give 400,000 IU twice yearly to infants and adults in Third World countries). Even when side effects of this regimen were noticed, tose effects were completely reversed within 72 hours. In pregnancy especially, not to overdose on anything you must be very careful. Since astaxanthin is a carotenoid, the mother would have to watch daily for orange coloration of the skin or yellowing of the eye. This is called carotenoid poisoning, a non-dangerous side effect indicating the inability of the liver to process this food-form supplement. At that point you would stop the supplement for several days or at least until the yellowing disappears. You may then proceed with the supplement at a reduced dose as tolerated. Your doctor, as a legal matter, may suggest against this but would have no substantive grounds for this position. However, I believe there is no medical anti-inflammatory that has been proven completely safe for pregnant or lactating mothers and their breastfeeding children.ubyrue wrote: Amber Boggs <rubyrueRe: Re: Off Topic - maybe - Inflammation Information Date: Sunday, February 1, 2009, 12:35 PM Do you no if this would be safe when pregnant or Breastfeeding?
