Any suggestions on how to get rid of fleas without spraying poison in

the house? I have no idea where these little guys came from, but I'm

really worried they're going to get out of control if I don't cut them

off at the pass. We don't have animals, but we do live in the south

where pests of all kinds abound.

Do you have a few gooseneck lamps? On the floor, put down a dinner

plate full of water with a couple drops of dishwashing detergent in

the water, then put the lamp next to it and bend the light so it's

about 8 " above the water. You need only a low wattage - 20 watt is

big enough. Put one in each room and keep them on all day, all night.

You will have to fill the water occasionally, and when it gets full

of fleas (and other bugs) you can change it completely. This works great.

I weigh the base of the lamp down with a brick to be sure it won't

fall over.

If you have carpets, Clean them with borax in water.....Many years ago

I got rid of them for ever that way.

They may also hide in the grass , outside and you bring some eggs in

the house without knowing it. They hide also in the furniture,

blankets, etc, so You could use borax in your laundry for a while.

Wash the floors with borax, also. To get rid of fleas takes a few

weeks, because even though the adults die, the new eggs hatch.

Good luck.

I don't know what to tell you about the outside.....You are going to

figure out where the main source of infection comes from.....

Marie.
