The FDA told the company it wants additional data before deciding whether to approve its use in women ages 27 to 45.It’s the second time the regulators have said no to Merck on Gardasil for women this age. The vaccine is currently approved for girls ages 9 to 26.It’s not a surprise the expanded approval hasn’t been a slam dunk. The vaccine, which protects against types of human papillomavirus thought to cause most cervical cancers, is considered most effective in people who haven’t yet had sex and been exposed to HPV. The older the population using the vaccine, the harder it is to make a case for its utility.The vaccine’s sales growth has already tapered off in part because of fewer-than-expected vaccinations among women ages 19 to 26.Even if Gardasil ultimately gets the expanded approval, there are questions about how enthusiastic insurers will be about paying for it in the older set. There’s already been debate about whether it’s worth the money.Merck’s shares were down about 2% in late-morning trading. Merck said the FDA wants data from a four-year study after it’s completed. The company expects to provide a response to the agency in the fourth quarter of this year. Separately, the company is also seeking approval of Gardasil in boys. =====In accordance with Title 17 U.S.C. I am very intrested to here everyones oppinions of this Vaxanation. What in the hell are they really trying to do. There has to be some other motive and we are wondering if it has to do with them trying to alter the DNA of future children of these girls. This hole vaxanation really makes me mad.

Yes there is always the money aspect. But it really seams to me that there is also some other motive. Why else spend the money that our country needs vaxanating other countrys and regons? I smell something fishey.

Spot on I'd say - OR - but along those lines and how i saw it initially - to render females infertile and then have selective breeding - well thats what IVF is really isn't it?
