RE: Itching/antibiotics

of vitamin C. I read that one can consume as much as it takes to give one runny bowel, then back off some. A runny bowel has never been an issue with me. I bought a pound of Ascorbic Acid from Herbalcom and self packed it in capsules. It can just as easily be taken by the tablespoon though. At the same time I started taking two 5,000 IUs of vitamin D3. I'm pretty sure I was low. I read that it helps colitis, a bowel condition. It was one, the other, or both. But, it worked. I'm not taking any probiotics but I use Kefir grains almost daily. I

mix about a cup of Kefir yogurt with crushed pineapple, pumpkin seeds

and/or sunflower seeds, and banana.

 

I'm still not sure what brought on my bought of hideous itching but

the vitamin C and D seem to've helped. I'm better now, so there's

hope!!!

hi gina

so what are probiotics and what is the benefits. after your e-mail i have been taking more vitamin c

i would like to get this itching under control so any all ideas or remedies would be appreciated.

You may have been having an adverse reaction. I was told not to take penicillian

after such a rash. Another round of penicillian any time in the future could be fatal.

When I break out with a rash, or develope hives while taking a prescription. or have eaten something, I don't consume it again.

vitamin C (powdered ascorbic acid) as would give me diarrea. It was

probably around a couple of teaspoons. It might be best to start

with a 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon and increase daily, then back off some. I'm

sure there's some info on the web about doing this. I've packed

gelcaps and now I take two to five a day.

 

I bought 5000 iu vitamin D3 and, at first, was taking three a day. I

take one a day now.

 

Do you make your own yogirt? I've been making my own for a couple of

months now. I bought kefir grains from an ebay vendor. I received

1/4 cup of live grains and have given a lot away since. They double

in size about every two - three weeks. They're weird critters. I

feed them raw milk when I can get it. I get as much as several 32 oz

containers a week. There's a web-site with a lot of info: searching

Dom's and Kefir will get you there.

Probiotic

Probiotics are dietary supplements and live microorganisms containing

potentially beneficial bacteria or yeasts. According to the currently

adopted definition by FAO/WHO, probiotics are: `Live microorganisms

which when administered in adequate amounts confer a health benefit

on the host'

 

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are the most common type of microbes used.

clean buildup from colon which can be a haven for gut flora

competitors, Yeast being one. I've also eliminated sugar and honey

from my diet but this was after the itching stopped. I don't intend

for it to come back.
