Guest guest
Lighted candles keeps flies out as well, but not as well as plastic bags with water. Interesting that it is also done here. In the Philippines, this is practised in very rural areas. Guest guest
I'm going to try this, however I don't have hardly any flying bugs but does anyone have a natural deterrent for roaches and other crawly bugs to keep them from coming in the house? Guest guest
Hi Karen in AZ, I don't know that I can keep the creepy crawlies from coming into your home, but a bit of powdered sugar mixed with either baking soda or borax and placed in small shallow containers around where you know roaches will come in (like kitchen and bathroom areas) will kill them dead. It literally blows them up. Guest guest
I forgot to mention another fly deterrent are a bunch of aluminim foil strips that are tied and hanged together. The light reflected by the aluminum keeps then away, likewise when the strips are touched by the wind, they flutter and drive the flies away. Now, there are aluminums or silver material coated in plastic which i think would be better than plain aluminum sheets because they don't tear. Guest guest
Yes, sunlight has to touch those ziploc bags so the light bounces far and wide and the flies see them even from afar and stay away.
