Action Alert: Two Florida bills that help you assert your rights-Mental Health Care

House Joint Resolution 37 (Senate Joint Resolution 72) Florida Legislators have submitted the Florida Health Care Freedom Act to several committees in Tallahasee. It is specifically referred to as House Joint Resolution 37 and Senate Joint Resolution 72. When this bill is passed into law, it will "preserve the freedom of all residents of the state to provide for their own health care."

This bill was supposed to move through the Rules and Calendar Council.

Please contact these legislators and let them know you want to preserve the freedom to provide for your own mental health care and object to the mental health programs in the Federal health care bill.

Currently, the memorial is stuck in Rep. Murzin's council (EconomicDevelopment & Community Affairs Policy Council). Rep. Workman has askedrepeatedly to get that moving. As of yet, the council has not heard thebill. This week will be the last meeting of Murzin's council and if wedon't get it on that agenda, the issue will be dead in the House. Obviously, he ishaving greater success.
